Old School Double D cable row handles

Remember these handles back in the day? They were called double D for an obvious reason, two capital D's joined like so. Then you have the newer handles that are often called double D's even though they are not. I consider them knockoffs haha.

I'm a picky guy. Anyone know where the hell to get the true vintage double D's?

Lame modern knockoffs. Not going in my home gym.

I've never seen those before! I sometimes hook two separate handles to get a less fixed and different effect than the modern ones...is that similar to what those OG ones were like?

What muscles do you feel that are not being activated using the knockoffs?

I saw them a lot at gyms when I was at Ft Campbell and I think even Korea. I did see a set in a Colorado 24hr Fitness.
As far as any effect I doubt it would matter especially to any degree like grip width or grip placement. The pic I put up are glossy double D's but the ones I'm familiar with were an unfinished old iron kind. It's not an issue to people really but I just loved the feel of the old ones. Some people take my sarcastic humor the wrong way but it's my home gym and we create it the way we see fit.

I like the more modern weldment for Tbar rows, etc., but I did see the style you posted mainly on overseas sites.

IDK, maybe keep an eye on CL, eBay, and check sites like Rogue or Titan.

    Good luck!

    Then I was disappointed.

I struggle to concentrate because of your damn avi….

Ok, back on point. I would either scour the web as AG suggested or tell me what 24 in Colorado and I’ll go pinch them for you.

I know exactly what you mean. Some shit I just like. Makes no difference to some people, huge difference to me. I like what I like.

I’m the dude that will lug a certain handle around until I’m ready to use it.

“Excuse me sir, are you using that handle”?

I swear I have seen them recently, but I left that gym. Damn, you can find anything on the internet these days though. Don’t like the rubber on the new handles or any bars/dumbbells, it’s like wearing gloves to workout. Not happening.

Might be a balance thing since youre pulling the double Dizzles from where the cable attaches, maybe more movement opposed to the V handle which is pulling from either end and maybe less range of motion

I've got a few pieces of Titan equipment. It is not fancy but man, it is solid.

OP, you might try reaching out to them. They seem fairly responsive to customer demand.

Also, and this is just my impression, I kind of think they started life as a machine shop / manufacturer of a variety of equipment, and sort of migrated to exercise equipment. Point being that they may have machines sitting around waiting for something to do. I could be totally wrong though, it certainly would NOT be the first (or last) time.

The avi is wifey's world dot com. Of course she is a sellout now.
Crap it was one of the locations that shutdown because of the plandemic. It was 2770 South Colorado Blvd in Denver. This was years ago but I would mainly go to the one over 3 miles north of it on the same road. There was this personal trainer there with dark hair and a serious ass.

Yeah I've scoured the world online. I used Google and Bing. I was lucky enough to find the pick that I did. Maybe my option is hitting up the huge flea market in the city.

Yup. For the hell of it I did a search this morning- nothing. I couldn’t even find a pic. Honestly, I was pretty surprised. Good luck with the search & agree about the look of the original handle, completely see why you’d want it. Def Old School.

All that said, maybe find a local welder or shop that will make it for you. It doesn't appear complicated <<--- says the man that would barely know a welding machine from a battery charger

Don’t blame yourself. You probably don’t have an ultimate set of tools.

If you know of a shop, they might have enough scrap pieces sitting around to build them from scratch. Might need a machine shop if you want some knurling, but otherwise gtg.

The modern one is the one they have at my gym, it is a good handle. I also use it for doing T bars.
