Water--drinking too much can cause cerebral edema, the case of Jennifer Strange...
how worried should one be about this?
You may note that we drink lots of water almost a gallon to ease up the joints when lifting heavy and to hydrate the body
Jennifer Strange a Nor Cal woman in 2007 had entered a contest and she drank lots of water; she was relatively healthy and only in her late 20s
almost a gallon in the space of 3 hours
it's not to clear if she urinated, the radio contest probably forbid anyone urinating
the contest's name was hold your wee for a wii
wii is some video game system very popular in the year, 2007
How does one avoid drinking too much to the point of causing the cells to swell which in turn causes cerebral edema?
It's probably too much in a short space of time (and without urinating) ?
Part of that probably involves monitoring the color of the urine and if it's clear in color, to avoid drinking water for a while
and maybe add some electrolyte drinks?
The only reason I came across this was in the back of my subconscious mind, someone told me on this forum you can die from drinking too much water.
and yesterday, I looked at an article which I can't find now that mentions that Bruce Lee might have also passed because of drinking too much water.
I thought he was joking to an extreme to make a point
Too much water? This might be something I will casually look for on youtube 1 day I told myself
