Needle help

Hi guys,

so I just got my needles and normally I use the good ole green to draw and blue 23g 1” to inject as you do lol but I’ve ended up with orange 0.5” 25g can I use these for my gear or are these crap

It may end up sub-q unless you are lean. You might try delts for IM with that length, though. And sub-q isn't likely to hurt you, it just will absorb slower.

What volume are you dealing with?

Hmm, with that much volume, I would go with a longer needle like the 1" you normally use. I kind of think that is a bit much for half inch, and definitely too much for sub-q.

First injection : deltoids right blue 06x30mm
Second injection : Deltoids left blue 06x30mm

First inject : Gluteus maximum right black 07x40mm
Second injec : Gluteus maximum left black 07x40mm

The best are to wait around 25 days to inject again in the same muscle.

What volume are you dealing with?

I never go with under a 1” for an intramuscular injection, as far as the gauge 25 is fine but you just can’t force the gear through the syringe, slow steady pressure and it will start flowing pretty good, try and force it and it’s really hard to get it moving

same on the 1” rule, but i use 1.5” on glutes. and about gear viscosity. every brewer is different, but i think for the most part people don’t brew thick gear, but a 25g, might be pushing it. my gear is made with MCT and 10% castor oil. shoot 20g is as thin as i can go due to viscosity.

OP, how are you with site injection accuracy? nail it everytime?

dang, 25 day break for each site. i wait 12… will i regret that? i use a fresh needle on the injection portion. its been 6 years. damage may already be done huh. i don’t have issues breaking through the sheath around the muscle. you know how u can feel the difference between needle going into fat vs muscle-that second break through. haven’t had major issues but sometimes i gotta be a little firmer with the insertion pressure

Needles are cheap. Just buy the ones you want to use and either return these or throw them away. It really shouldn't even be a "can I get away with using these" type of question.

If they're not what you want, then don't use them. It's as simple as that.

True. I bought some Covidien syringes and needles. Absolutely the worst needles I've ever used. Got a B-D 23g x1 needle and switched it out. Absolutely like night and day.

Exactly. I mean for the OP the .5" needles probably would be fine for his delt, but why bother guessing if it'll work or not? When you can just order a box of the right ones and in a few days they'll be at his doorstep.
