most contain nothing but high amounts of sugar.
your better off making your own using whey, oats and natty peanut butter.
2 scoops of whey, 1 cup of raw oats, 2 tbsp natty pb mixed in ice\water is a good quality, high calorie meal replacement

depends on the rest of your diet and your total caloric intake for the day.
I posted my diet a few weeks ago on this forum.Originally Posted by GetPsycho

Thanks again for your help
first off, i would dump the english muffin, white rice and yogurt. all too high on the GI if you are trying to keep body fat gain minimal on your bulk
as far as the shake i suggested, you can just throw it in anywhere as a meal replacmenet. also, you might consider waking up earlier so you can get all your calories in with out eating large meals too close together.
the shake i recommended is customizeable. if you dont need that many more calories then cut the amounts down to 1/2 cup oats and 1 tbsp natty pb

let me correct myself, you can use that shake anywhere except post workout
no kidding, I thought that would be one of the prime times to take it.Originally Posted by GetPsycho
Why is that?
post workout you want to replenish glycogen stores and put a halt to coritsol. how? INSULIN
whey protien, maltodextrin and dextrose mixed in water. in other words whey protein and simple sugars. no fat, no fiber
I use ISOPure as my whey. Where can I find and how much maltodextrin and dextrose should I mix in with my protein?Originally Posted by GetPsycho

the general rule of thumb is 2.5g per 10 pounds body weight for a cut, and 5g per 10 pounds body weight for a bulk
you can adjust this according to your liking, but it gives you a baseline

I cannot find dextros or maltodextrin anywhere. I tried GNC and a health food store. Where can I get Natty peanut butter?Originally Posted by GetPsycho

Personally, for a premade post workout shake I love Prolab's Nlarge 2 in the 10lb bucket. Chocolate in water is heaven.

I found the dextrose and maltodextrin off the net. Got it today
It seems that 2.5-5.0 g per 10lbs of body weight seems like a lot.
Is that per shake? That would mean a 200lb guy would use up to 100g of both dextrin and dextrose per post workout shake....
Wow thats a lot of sugar. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks

for a 200 pound male on a bulk the suggested intake is 5 g of carbs per 10 pounds body weight. so yes, that is 100g of carbs. but you dont have to take in that much if you dont want. scale it back to 4 g of carbs per 10 pounds body weight.
and the dextrose and maltodextrin is taken 50/50. in other words if you are 180 pounds and need 90 g of carbs then take in 45 g of malto and 45 g of dext
