    am i hurting myself here?

alright, so i started dieting this week. Im eating really clean and doin lots of morning cardio and lifting.
i won't go into the details of what i'm eating but i'm taking in around 250 grams of protein a day, 150-175 carbs a day, and around 30-40 grams of fat. Now obviously i'm trying to burn fat, but also put on lean mass. Am i hurting my chances of that by only taking in that amount of carbs and fat? do i need to up the carbs in my first couple meals? I have Nlarged shakes that i could take but i was worried because it has 600 calories and 86 carbs per serving........but would it be ok to use that as my post workout shake? any suggestions would help bros.......thanx

    ...

You've got to understand when you build muscle your going to burn fat as weight training is a fat burner in itself. But if your trying to bulk up primarily you should shoot for a diet in the ratio of 45%protein/35%carbs/20%fat and if your trying to cut then I would say go with a ratio around 50%p/25%c/25%fat of your total cals.

Actually, you should. Aside from over-training, this is the most error ridden portion of many people's attemted fitness endeavors.
