Questions about some of these "Atkins" foods...

    Ok...

I go to college full time and sometimes it is a pain to have the tupperware with me to bring chicken/tuna etc... and I don't always have time in between classes to eat.

I have noticed recently that they have these Atkin's protein bars that list 21g carbs but only 2 met carbs... and no sugars. Is this bogus or are they legit? They have 19 grams of protein, which for a quick in between meal should fit into my plan. They also have some kind of atkins chips etc... with no sugars and only like 2 met carbs. Are these for real or BS?

I would stay away from these as much as possible. The protein is mainly "hydrolyzed collagen" a.k.a. crap.

I think you would be better of carrying a whey/flax shake with you which you should have no problem drinking in class if youre crunched for time.

At least try some of the more legitimate protein bars available. The Atkins bars are crap.

I go to college full time too. I eat the Detour bars. 30g of protein, good snack in between classes if you're worried about protein, and they only take about 2 mins. to eat if you hurry (hehe), they're a little pricy though, so I would try to hold it to maybe one or two a week if you're on a tight budget. I eat mine on my longest class days.

You might wanna give the Odyssey bar a try. It's got way less sugar, by the same maker, and I think it tastes better by far.

How is it price wise, and where can you get it?

Remember those bars don't have the nutrients they CLAIM to have.

I think the combination of bad lighting and crappy camera made it appear that way. I will post some better pictures perhaps at the end of this week or next week, feel like I'm making some pretty good improvements. And I paid like **** near $20 for these bars, better believe I'm gonna eat every last one of them! That "alleged" carbs aren't too bad, but the "probably a little under estimated" sugar is what worries me.
