Interesting article on gene therapy as performance enhancement...sounds like fun.
i cant wait till it hits the market
If that shi t actually hits the market...Hoss will soon be more of a monster then he allready thought possible...With the way technology is today, I wonder what it will be like when I'm about 30....
One word on that article: Amazing.

That would be fuking awesome. I wonder how much a shot will cost though.
I'm not surprised, Maybe not our generation but in the distant future you could probally be able to do anything to yourself or your kids, by manipulating your genes and chromosomes.. Right now they are just brushing the surface with gene therapy.. Hopefully i won't be around, when it's not out of the ordinary to see clones of humans, and a family full of arnolds and jenna jamiesons...haha
I don't disagree with it, but thats the way science is progressing.. It depends how you look at it.. It may have a negative impact, and at the same time it may be tremendously positve..
**** exciting stuff....where do we sign up for human trials, lol
This sounds really good if they could take care of the cancer problem!!
"The AP is reporting about a gene therapy study in which muscle tissue in rats is modified to grow at an accelerated rate. The researchers are mainly interested in combating muscular dystrophy, but obviously there are other potential applications, both good and bad, for a treatment which makes you stronger."
This is the only way we'll be able to compete in hand to hand combat with the robots that we'll assuredly create and be forced to fight against in the near future.
What does the future hold for sport? I think that as time goes by we are going to see amazing leaps in human performance due to gene manipulation. Hell, in the not so distant future they are going to be engineering children while still in the womb so you tell how they are going to trace that crap. BORN PERFECT. Slowly but surely they are maping out everything right down to our very DNA and as for the future, well, THINK BIG!!!
robots? I was under the impression that gorrilas were tricking us into thinking htat hey are going exticnt and they were gong to attack the human race after destroying all of our technology which gives us power over them and gene therapy was the only we would be able to fend them off.................or is the robot thing after the gorrila thing???......
interesting to see the longevity of these supposed gains that the rats had...eventually without the proper nutrition atrophy would occur one would think.
also, AIDS patients that were relying on expensive hGH treatments could spend a flat amount on gene therapy and not waste away.
i can't even imagine what will be around in another 5 years...
**** that stuff sounds wicked..........
I would love to be one of the first few to try it.
I saw it on the news and the company that developed this and put it out in the news had over 2 million phone calls from athletic directors and sports agents.........although my calls made up well over a million.
Im totally down for this.....It could help people with muscular dystrophy too possibly? Anyways....If this sh it hits the market, you can bet your sweet asses hoss is gonna be the first to get some....
I just called my "friend" and he has some.....
if anyone is interested holla
So full of it pure power.......can i get some LOL.......no seriously i want some.
Ill take a 55 gallon drum please. Wonder if this is the stuff the hulk took if so i need some badly.

Wonder if this stuff can be passed from one generation to another? If so, then what's to stop some terrorist group from shooting up a few rats in New York and letting 'em reproduce . . . dealing with legions of super-rats wouldn't be a whole lot of fun . .
I'm sure the military would love to get this stuff . . . pump up the marines, send 'em off to whup the Chinese into submission . . .
100 years from now, thanks to technology, this planet is going to be unrecognizable. Dunno if it will be for better or worse, but it sure will be different.
