What happened to Mark Curr? (Kerr?) UFC
The was this show on UPN on Friday night about Mark Coleman and Mark Curr from the UFC. It was an awsome show. But after Mark lost his last fight he hasnt fought since July 29 '01. Why is that? Also I remember seeing a pic of him in someone avator here. Is he a member or is it just a regular avator pic? Anyone know the rest of the story with him? Just curious b/c he was badazz!!

sorry i disagree, he was a good fighter, a good wrestler, strong as fuk, and pretty ruthless, however rec drugs got the better of him and an alcoholic gf, his conditioning deteriorated

He was a great fighter like OJ said, drugs ruined him and his comeback featured him knocking himself out in Pride. Guess he couldn't get it back.

Mark Kerr has retired from MMA. His return was shaky as he went for the double on Yamimoto and his head hit first and he was out like a light, Yamimoto swept to get mount and rained a few punches down but you can plainly see Kerr was out before hand.

Kerr was out before he even stepped in the ring. I hate to say it, but comebacks almost never work out.

What happened is easy if you saw that special...
Mark Coleman is a very grounded, down to earth family man
with some faith in God and has his head in the right place...
While Mark Kerr had a major Nubain and Pain Killer addiction
and a crazy girlfriend that was a alcoholic that he ended up
getting married too... To different styles of personal lifes and
that's the difference and what happened to him IMO...

BTW Mark Coleman did make a comeback and twice if I remember right...
Without a doubt my favorite MMA fighter, even though he'll always be
more of a wrestler then anything else, but still a tough sonofabitch...

I saw that video smashing machine a long time ago. Mark Kerr actually looked like he trained somewhat like a bodybuilder, his quads were pretty **** big for a fighter!!!

He's my alltime favorite MMA fighter... If you remember an I'm sure you
do going by your board name when Coleman came into the scene he
changed the way people fought and thought about No Holds Barred
fighting with his Ground and Pound style... I like how the guy carries
himself and I guess that's how I always fought when I had to, so I can
relate to the guy alot... Plus I respect how much his family and kids
mean to him from what I know... I hope he can make it back again to
the elite level...

Its just not going to happen, the Hammer House refuses to evolve as their submission defense is beyond pathetic. Randleman is a prime example, always saying he will learn yet gets submitted by people that are terrible at submissions (Waterman, CroCop of all people).
It has been said for years that if they would learn some solid sub defense they would almost be unstoppable, but time and time again they show their unwillingness to evolve.
Sad really as they both have alot of natural talent.

You make some very valid points... Their defensive skills are lacking, but
they both still have a ton of natural ability and regardless Mark is my own
personal favorite and kind of how I fight when I have to, so one on one I
still think he's pretty **** good... I also know how to defend, so at least
I know that's important myself, but this ain't about anything more then I
would love to see him back in there competing and at peak performance...

Mark Kerr was awesome, also an excellant college wrestler. He wrestled Couture in college and im pretty sure he won, I also heard he wrestled that tard Kurt Angle and won also, or maybe that was Coleman. Mark Kerr and Coleman were one of the main reasons I started following MMA. Too bad for Kerr.
