Going to a combat sambo tournament!!
Well I been training to get back into it after a long lay off and the next one is in March. It's plenty of time to train and get myself in shape for it. Combat Sambo implements striking so yes there will be punching I will be punched. It's in St. Petersburg, which is a place I can't stand, I'll be happy to post some pics up after it even tho it's months away. Fedor Emelianenko or Aleks may actually participate. There is a very high chance they could actually compete in this event since they compete in MANY events. Fedor more so that Aleks. I saw him compete twice in events I did not compete in although they were regular grappling tournaments and he was AMAZING. Here is footage of a combat sambo tournament with Fedor Emelianenko participating.

hey fighter,
how did u get into sambo? the reason why i'm asking is because i did sambo for 8 years back in russia before i moved to the states. nobody really knows about sambo here, although fedor is definitely changing that.

Sounds good man! Good luck to you! I miss the tournaments as well...I used to compete all over Russia and at one point was ranked #1 in Moscow (too bad I was only 12 at the time ). I trained with Victor Vasileevich at school #70. He was a 3 time world sambo champion and a 1 time world judo champion. I wish I would have kept up with sambo and stayed in touch with the right people in Russia, but unfortunately I didn't. If you're ever in Chicago and would like to remind me a thing or two, let me know.
