Filho is a bit under rated in K-1, he is a great fighter.

If it was not for the katas i would consider going back into kyo kushin.

I have been lookin 4 a kyokushinkai club in my area but can't find 1 anywhere...If i were u i would start again and really dedicate yourself as i believe that this style really conditions your body and makes u mentally strong 2 as your taking punishment also....Improved suppleness etc...Go 4 it!!

Honestly I don't see much different between that and body-shot only sparring in kickboxing, which I detest.

No gloves/mitts makes the difference as most kickboxing i see wear shin pads/mitts and headguards even 4 bullshit semi contact or body blows...Naked shin and bare knuckle is best...Kickboxing is 4 women and kids wanting a little cardio session...

    ... i disagree..

KB training is certainly one of the best forms of technique conditioning

... the bag won that paticular fight

How familiar are you with kickboxing Simm?

Very fimiliar as i train in mma wiv various top british instructors..Kickboxing wise i was training 2 enter the british k-1 the year that matt skelton won but due 2 fractured shin i had 2 withdraw...Usually train mma at home wiv 2 brothers as olympic wrestling coach went back 2 egypt and the mma club here has nobody that i cannot beat...NO DISRESPECT to them....I just have 2 continuosly push myself and find better sparring partners..Bin thinking of training in brazil at chute boxe!!! Only way 2 progress seems 2 be by training abroad nowadays!!

Not everyone is allowed to take the Vale Tudo classes at Chute Boxe, if you are serious i can check and get some info for you. The training there is brutal and not for everyone.

Are you wanting to fight? Give me your stats as this will help.

The answer lies in the person performing the art..I throw a kick and try to rip the head off the guy as why do something and not put your heart into it..That is what i see in alot of sports and kickboxing is no different..When i train, people around me quit yet i would rather die trying than quit, even in the gym training!! May sound as tho i have an attitude prob but believe me i am one of the nicest people u could meet and have respect for every martial art and practitioner..Just that sum r better than others imo...

What time of year would you want to go? Month? If i were you i would try to schedule inbetween scheduled Pride fights so you might have a better chance sparring with some pros..maybe if you are lucky you might get to bang with Wanderlei, Shogun or Ninja..most likely Cyborg.

Have fun though...i believe they should suffice as good sparring partners.
