    First cycle for someone who trains mma

    I've been weightlifting for about 3 years natural and I went from 135 (13% bf) to
    215 (12% bf) in about 2 years of dedicated bodybuilding. My interest has switched over to the mma realm in the past year causing a struggle to retain muscle mass, and a fight against recovery time. I recently was able to modify my training routine in the gym to better suit the recovery needed from the already abundant amount of stress that I place on my CNS by all the activities that I take part in. Right now my weight fluctuates between 182-196 depending on my carb intake, and on whether I have a grappling competition coming up. While Im pretty toned I want to get as low bf as possible and increased strength to have the ouvious upper hand in competitions. My weight classes vary, I have competed in 185-195, 195-205, and 170-185 all at the top of the weight classes, but a large number of my competitors were still sigficantly more vascular, larger, and stronger.
    I have been fascinated with the idea of aas since I started seriously bodybuilding 3 years ago. There is an abundance of information on this site along with ebooks which I purchased (on of which is Chemical Muscle enhancement by L. Rea), but the information given by these sources are not specific to my purposes and I would like to know if anyone would have suggestions for a first cycle or anything that worked for them in a similar situation. This is a sample week in my life maybe this will help some.

    Sample week

    Monday- Gym maybe boxing
    Tuesday- Jiu-jitsu Intense 1hour-2hours in the morning
    Wednesday- Afternoon- Gym:
    Night- Boxing 1-2 hours of boxing conditioning, and sparring
    Thrusday-jiu jitsu
    Friday- morning- jiu jitsu
    Afternoon-Gym:
    Saturday-jiu jitsu
    Sunday- If I did not make it to the gym on friday, I will go today instead.

    Ouviously from what I described earlier Im looking for a gradual lean muscle mass gain without a lot of extra weight due to bloating, because of my weight restrictions in competition. Since this would be my first cycle Im not if it would be wise to use a drug that requires a lot of injections either. Everyone in this forum seems to suggest a test cycle for the first cycle for about 12 weeks, but I believe this would put on way too much mass on me, and the side effects would also affect my performance negatively in my mma training. In the book I mentioned above L. Rea recommends a first cycle to be of 200mgs of deca one time a week for 4 weeks, which would not require pct according to him due to the shortness of it. I considered this because of its cheapness, low in sides due to shortness, low amount of injections, and gradual gain (assumed), but this has not been confirmed by any other sources that Ive seen other than his book. I also considered winstrol but the joint pain, and multiple injections associated with it seem like a bad choice for my purpose. I heard a lot of great things about finaplix from people that took it by itself and with test, but on this site its advised to only be taken in conjunction with something and not alone. Anyways now Im just rambling if someone could provide any help it would be much appreciated.

    Welcome Electric, this post may belong in the anabolic forum, but hopefully you will get some answers. First off read like crazy and learn, most are just to quick to want to stick themselves without really knowing all that is involved. I read the boards for a solid year back in 99 before ever starting...I WANTED TO KNOW EVERYTHING! and I avoided alot of dumb mistakes friends of mine made by jumping right in. Anyway, I'm shure some people can come up with a crazy complex ultra cycle, but since it's your first you want to keep it simple. I train MMA/BJJ and don't give a d*mn about puttin on 25 lbs in a cycle ,so I think I know what you mean. I would go with and EQ test cycle... the EQ will give you some gains, help your endurance, and make you alittle stronger without a huge size increase( but that depends on your diet). I would do something like EQ at 400-600 mgs/wk with test at 200-400 wk. Some may say this is mild, but it is great for a first timer, and especially someone who is training for "athletics" as opposed to BB. You may want to get some more opinions on how much test to run, as you got to worry about it bloating you and putting on more size that the EQ. I like to run EQ at about 500 and run "maintenece" dose of test, like HRT levels. A sustanaon every 10 days has always worked great for me. Some say to bump the test and use l-dex or something to keep the bloating down, but that is not a good idea for someone who does alot of cardio as it will hurt your LDL/HDL levels, so you may want ot experiment. Many competitors use winny, actually alot of them do, as it will give you some strength without a large size gain and doesn't kill your cardio like var does. I stay away from winny because it dries you out, can be bad on your joints and tendons, and like mentioned above is REALLY bad for your heart, however it's a popular choice.

    I thought posting here would limit the responces I get to people who have some notion of MMA training, because thats the perspective that I want a responce from. Not the bb perspective. Since this would be my first 400 mg of EQ with 250 of sust would probably due with this configuration. I dont mind the mildness because I actually would prefer to take the lowest beneficial dosages possible to reduce bloatness and sides. You took sus every 10 days? How many weeks were both run?

    Also from the information I have read through in the first cycle its not recommended to use test with different esters like sus, or to stack. Usually people advise on a test only cycle. What are your thoughts or experience in regards to this?

    Don't take any of this the wrong way Electric, but it does sound like you need to do alittle more research... you should have at least a little more of a grasp on the different esters, doses, precautions etc...for example, with a first timer the difference between running sus and a single ester over a 10-12 week period or so, is really non existant...yes the do stay in your body for different lengths, and some people make a big deal out of trying to get every last benifit out of sus and like take it twice a week to even out the prop ester, but dude...that's just splitting hairs..a little time and you would know small stuff like this...I really just want youy to be careful dude..you are injecting your body with stuff- so please know about it. But if your asking for an outline- yes, get a single ester test and run it around 200-250 mg every week to ten days -EQ, 500 from the start. If you feel ike you need a little kick in the test around week 5-6, bump it a little. With the mild dose of test you shouldn't have to worry about to much bloating, Drink plenty of water, watch your sodium intake, eat clean, and you will love it. I would run it 10-12 weeks -and don't be discouraged, you will not recieve the full benifit from the Eq until like week 6-7, from then on it is amazing- also the first 2-weeks or so,as my body adjust my wind is terrible..it does this every time for me, so just wait it out..the good days are on their way!

    Thanks for the info bro. Did you run nolvadex at 10-20mg a day or just keep it in hand in case you felt some gyno sides showing through?
