I agree Tim Sylvia has beaten some pretty good competition including a PRIME Ricco. That is no easy feat and Ricco is a great fighter.

Ricco was tearing up the division back then and he probably would have had a better chance had he tried going for some takedowns and ground and pound. but just like his training partner, Tito, he decided to prove to everyone that he wanted to stand up and bang with someone who's probably more powerful than him.
if anything, AA got a bit too excited and careless, just like randy did in the 2nd fight against Chuck after getting poked in the eye. up to that point, he was landing more shots.
now...i don't think anyone is trying to argue that Sylvia or AA are up to Fedor's level or many of the Pride HW's, but unfortunately they are the best UFC has to offer and both have fought decent competition in the past and have showed decent skills.

Pride has some great heavies but I wouldn't call Aleks, Sergie, Alistar, Werdum world wreckers either good and add depth but not everything people make them out to be and dont forget Nog should have lost to Ricco who is from the UFC not to mention Barnette is going to knock some heads in the open weight gp. Pride has great fighters the UFC has great fighters just becouse a fighter is from pride does not mean they cant be beat by a UFC fighter.
