I boxed for awhile, after 8 months my left shoulder would kill me if I tried to lift it straight up with elbow bent. Totally ruined my weight training , so I quit boxing and two months off from everything and I was good to go. I believe it was left hooking the heavy bag, thats when I felt it the most. Good luck.

seems to me that training in grappling and most boxing / kick boxing / muy thai styles, you kinda get used to being injured. I can't remember the last time i didn't have atleast 1 injury :|

With boxing I experienced most of my shoulder problems from going hard on the heavy bag or sometimes from holding focus mitts for hard hitters. I just took some time off when I had pain and did shadow boxing, speed bag and double end bag work.
