So far these are the results:

Zentsov over Yvel by KO

Werdum over Overeem via Armlock (bent armlock from guard)

Hunt over TK by TKO (OMG what a fight, TK showed so much heart and ate so many bombs and the ref saw enough and stopped it into the 2nd round, TK complained and wanted to continue butcould barely stand from exhaustion)

Alex is walking to the ring now....

Barnett on his way down the ramp....

Fedor is in Alex's corner, Alex looks to be in good shape...

Round 1:

Both guys cautiously feeling each other out. Straight left by Alex, counter by Barnett barely misses. Barnett tries to shoot, ALexander gets out of it, tags Barnett with a right. Alex did his fancy windup deal. They clinch, knee inside by Barnett, Knee to the body by Alex. Right hand by Alex and they break. Fedor shouting out instructions. Oho, looks like Barnett caught an eye poke. THey're taking time. Banett already cut a bit between his eyes.

They resume. Jab by Alex. Alex tags him with a a1-2 and an uppercut, fast hands. They trade punches, voerhand right by Barnett, short uppercuts and a straight by Alex. Left hook by Alex. Jab by Alex. Alex Comes in with a right, a left that barely connects, and a looping overhand that misses. Overhand right by Josh misses, jab by Alex.

Left and a looping uppercut that misses by Alex. Straight bodyshot by Alex, keeping his hands very low. 1-2 connects by Alex, more the 2 than the 1. They clinch. Alex breaks out. Fedor shouting out instructions. Josh with a good overhand right, bodyshot counter by Alex as he tries to follow up. Alexander comes in with a left to the body and a straigh right to the head. Clinch and 2 knees by Jopsh, bodyshot and a hook by Josh. Ref calls for action as gthey get taentative, bodyshot by Josh, right hook counter by Alex. Alex comes forward with a 1-2. He is the aggressor. Nice shovel punch to the body By Alex. Alex tags him with a punch and staggers Josh momentarily but he's OK. LEft jab by Alex

Right by Barnett, jab by Alex, alex gets a knee in too. He jabs Barnett again. Keeps trying to go for a jab-uppercut combo but is not making the uppercut tight enough. Bodylock by Josh, going for a TD but Alex breaks free, Josh gets a knee as they brewak. Alex lookingvery casual with his hand low. Alex gets a nice right straight. Nice combo by Alex, Barnett counters with a good right, they clinch for a second and break. Good left to the body by Josh, trying to bob and weave and keeps getting tagged by Alex's hook. Uppercut by Barnett, and a hook by Alex. ALex maybe tired. Good shovel punch by Alex.

Nother good bodyshot by Barnett, jab by Alex. Striaght right by Alex. Alex looking fatigued, breathing out of his mouth. Tags him with a left, and a couple of uppercuts, now another left, a knee, and a right. Time cause Josh kicked him in the groin as they broke.

Josh rushes forward but nothing, rushes forward again and gets a short hook to the ody and a glancing left as they break. Misses a teep as the round ends. Alex is TIRED as hell

Round 2:

They touch gloves. Barnett pawing a jab, rushes in, Alex skirts back. Jab by Alex. He's working his jab great. Barnett answers with a jab, bodyshot and a lowkick by Josh. Straight right by Alex and they clinch. Barnett kneeing the back of Alex's thigh, takes him down from a bodylock into side control. Standing up and trying to sit on Alexande's head, now a more conventional side control. Alex keeps working, good knees to the head by Josh here. 3 good knees, the crowd liked it. Bodyshot by Barnett. Trying to move to North-South. Hosh has a kimura here, the fight is stopped, I guess Alexander tapped but I didn't see it. Barnett wins by sub


Barnett in his speech after the fight said "There is one man i am after..(screams) Fedor...you are already dead".

Next up Josh Thompson vs Kazayuki Fujita

Thompson walking to the ring looking intense as ever smashing his fists together as always

Ruas is in Fujita's corner. Thompson doing his psycho routine.

Nakamura is beside Eiko Koike and Takada at the broadcast booth.

They stare each other down. Fujita smiling and dodding.

Oooh, Thompson waves him in. Fujita shoots twice with no go. Jab by Thomson, extremely looping right by Fujita misses. Fujita half-shoots and gives it up, and does it again. Thiompson trying to catch him coming in but is too slow to the punch. Left jab by Fujita, he shoots, Thomson avoids it, couple of knees to the body by James. Fujita lifting his knee to block James' in the corner as they clinch. Nother knee by Thompson. Knees to the body by Thomson. ombo by THomson, Fujita shoots, sprawled on again. some punches in counter by Thompson. Bodyshots in the clinch by Thompson.

Fujita with no offense so far. Awful lowkick by Thomson. Looping right misses by the Beast. He seems unsure of how to approach Thomson. Lowkick by James. They circle and james kicks low again.

Fujita looks waaay rusty. He hasn't connected with a strike yet and his shots aren't very god. Punches and a knee to the body by Thomson, now Fujuta connects with a straight right. Lowkick by Jaes. Frontkick and a 1-2 by Thompson. They trade punches, James connects more. Glancing lowkcik by Thomspon. Fujuta looks lost out there.

Nother lowkick by James. Jab anda striaght right by THomson. Knee to the body, and another couple. They trade wild hooks. Good knee to the body by Thomson, they trade punches and clinch again, James working bodyshots and knees
Kneeing Fujita's body and head now. He geta a thai clinch and a knee which sends Fujita backwards. Throwing some short uppercuts is Fujta, Fujita gets a right. Nother knee by THompson. Fujita shoots for a single and has a leg, they're agains the ropes. Thomson re verses it and is in Fujita's half guard

In Fujita's half guard throwing some short rights, Fujita reestablishes full guard. Bodyshot and 2 to the head by James. Throwing some weak punches but he looks tired. Fujita was holdin an arm but Thomson gets up, they trade punches now, Fujita with some uppercuts i the clinch. Both guys are tired and are not connecting well . Fujita begins to take over landing al ot of punches on Thomson, just wild hooks but James is staggered and seems to be hurt. Eventually one of them sends Thompson to the mat, KO.

Thompson showed alot of heart and showed that he has improved alot..he was in control most of the fight, just gassed out..i say due to his size.

This has been one hell of a Pride believe it or not...the fighters are fighting their asses off, there must be something in the water bottles tonight.

Ring girls now flailing around looking all good...they are announcing each girl...

Next up CroCop vs Minowa....

Minowa being announced, no cape for Minowa this time, walking down in just shorts and shoes..looks to be a little heavier..maybe 195lbs and marching down to the ring, has a serious look in his eyes considering his antics in the past

CroCop being announed...CC looks calm..walking down to the ring, CC taking off his shoes this time..Minowa bouncing in his corner

Fighters being announced....staredown Minowa looking down, CC looking calm

Rd 1 begins....

CC stalking Minowa..throwing combinations..Minowa shoots for a single..CC sprawls..CC in half guard with a little G&P.. CC backes out of half guard..on their feet..Minowa shoots for a single..CC sprawls..standup and clinched in the corner..CC going for thai clinch w/ knees.. they break and Minowa immediately shoots for the legs..CC sporawls once again and lands a shot on Minowa..Minowa hits the ground and CC follows him down and doing some G&P, Minowa not responding..CC by TKO

In his speech after the fight CroCop says "I hope you all enjoy the show, CroCop is back"

Next up Noguiera vs Zulu

Zulu walking to the ring stalking and making crazy faces in true Zulu fashion, hard to tell if he is in better shape than before...big ???

Minotauro Noguiera being called to the ring...Nog shadow boxing on his way to the ring

Fighters being announced...Zulu looks concerned but calm..Nog looks like his normal calm self..staredown, no knees or kicks to downed opponent due to weight difference..

RD1 begins

Round 1:

Good combination by Zulu, Nogueira shoots and now they are in a wierd position on the ground, Nogueira scrambles to take his back but Zulu gets guard, Nogueira passes in an instand and is in side control working short left hands to Zulu's head.

Nog still in side control, trying to break Zulu's control on his arm. Think about taking mount but continues to work left hands, Zulu tries to get up to no avail. Knees to the body by Nogueira, and more of those left hands.

Now Nogueira takes mount in the blink of an eye, we'll see how Zulu's strength plays into this. He tries to bridge but Nog maintains and is throwing some good punches. Grabs an armbar, no problem. Nog wins by armbar.

Zulu gave it to him on a silver platter, he had his arm extended all the way trying to push Nog's face away, Minotauro couldn't say no to it and takes the arm and Zulu taps..

Next up Yoshida vs Nishijima

Nishijima on his way to the ring in a silver robe, bouncing around

They are showing Yoshida in the back while Nishijima walks to the ring..Yoshida is sitting down and seems to be gathering himself for the fight...

Yoshida on his way to the ring in full Gi with some weird ass Japanese trance/dance mix music...

Shimada is reffing this one. No staredown. They touch gloves and head to their corners.

Round 1:

Jab by Nishijima that Yoshida avoids, Yoshi fakes a leg kick and goes for a highkick which hits Nishijima's arm. Lowkick by Yoshida. Straight bodyshot by Nishi. Yoshida misses a high kick. Nishijima misses a low kick, avoids a jab by Yoshida. Nother lowkick by Yoshida, he grabs Nishijima and takes him down with hardly even doing anything, more like a slip from Nishijima. He's in side control and is working for a gi choke, punches with his rigtht a couple times and takes mount. He works his left hand in short punches to Nishijima's head, he has his arm blocked so he gets about 10 weak shots. Nishijima tries to bridge but Yoshida still has very dominant position, he has a triangle and it looks deep. Now trying to go for an armbar as well. It's over, I can't tell whether from the triangle or armbar, most likely the combination of the two.

I will say that it turned out to be a hell of alot better than it looked on paper.

Fighters calling out Fedor are very funny and in for a very rude awakening.

Fedor got some serious class he never calls out anyone and is the proof that silence is gold.

Barnett is the next in line to find out, i say Fedor via another sick ground and pound like he did to Heath Herring.

Kick ass fight and Barnett was getting lit up big time, Alex showed speed and p;ower we have never seen before from him. I think if he adds some takedowns and more G&P into his gfame, he would have won.

He was tired as shit after the first round, hanging on the ropes and thrust his self onto the chair. Barnett took him down from a body lock and Alex just laid there pretty much.

Best line of the night was when barnett said "youll have to excuse me, i just got beat up by a crazy russian with a tattoo of a grim reaper holding a baby on his back"....i hated barnett until that comment now he kinda grew on me.

Barnett is a huge shit talker before a fight but he's a very very decent genuinely nice guy. He always just tries to hype all of his fights up.

yea I have seen a marked improvement since the crocop fight, i dont think he has enough for Fedor but you never know, I was also impressed with alex, who was dominating the fight until he gassed out, was really impressed with his striking and ring movement.

Honestly gassing out is going to be Aleks's problem that will follow him for years. Even tho he dropped almost 30 pounds he still gassed. Against Nastula he gassed and he was almost beaten a few times in that fight. The problem is that he throws down to damn hard. He doesnt conserve well. Barnett seems to have great cardio for a guy who has so much nervous energy he cant stop flying around the ring. I hope I see Fedor versus Barnett cuz I think Barnett will make it to the semis but wont make it to the finals. This is just another heavyweight Grand Prix and this is going to be a tough year for Fedor.
