Pat Melitch question
hey guy's, i have a question's for ya. this may sound stupid but i was just courious. i never realized Pat Melitch had so many schools, around. i was wondering how he handles all of that. how he goes about finding people to train the fighter's. and train them his way, when he's not there. and keep it all together.

All the best fighters are in Iowa. I dont know if he handpicks these guys to oversee his schools but I def see him having a heavyhand in it. Nothing will ever be as similiar to training with miletich himself. But you can bet your ass that whenever he finds a good fighter in his school that miletich takes him to Iowa to train under his roof.

ya, he does seem to hand pick the guys he sees futures with. apparently he found matt hughes at a smaller MMA event and basically told him that he would make him a champion if he came to train with him. i think that billy blanks (?) is affiliated with him, and i only hear great things about that guy.

so can anyone go to Iowa and train under Pat, or does he have to say you can come train with me. i noticed on his website that he has 30 fighters in Iowa and like 300 people at his gym. are some of these people just hoping Pat catches his eye. or can they go directly to Pat and say train me. just curious

Realistically, the purpose of this affliate program is first to make money off the miletich name and reputation, so he might be handpicking now but when the money starts rolling in ofcourse he will choose the money even when the school or trainer are mediocre.

Pat has some seriously gifted and experienced fighters. I wouldn't be suprised if Jens Pulver, Matt Hughes, ect. have instructorship roles of some sort. I read online somewhere that Jeromy Horn opened his own academy somewhere- but I can't remember is he said he was still affiliated with Militech.
I read an interview with Pat in Grappling a while back. Pat said that he'll get fighters coming from all over to train with him in Battendorf and that he'll have to send some of them back because it's such a small town that there's no work there.

Horn has opened a gym here in SLC. From what I hear there are UFC and Miletich guys coming in and out of there often.
