Pride OWGP Results (Spoilers)
Sorry i am stuck at work and could not do a big PbP of the event but it was a good one.
Here is the PbP for Wanderlei vs Fujita:
Okay, Wanderlei coming out! Sandstorm playing as he makes his way to the ring, wearing a black gi and his black belt. Big grin on his face. Rudimar and Rafeal Cordeiro with him.
Fujita coming out to Purple Haze by Hendrix. He's got his head bowed and is soaking up the crowd's energy, walking down with a GOD BLESS shirt like last time.
Lenne Hardt goes HU-HU-HU-HU-HUJIITAAAA (F and H are ambiguous in Japanese).
Wanderlei's bouncing around, ready to go. Fujita raises his hands to the crowd. Wanderlei has new trunks this time, camo chute boxe trunks. He does his "wrist rolling" thing.
Ruas is in Fujita's corner, and Dos Caras with his mask on, of course. Rudimar in Wanderlei's.
They stare each other down hard. Getting in each other's faces. Really good one.
Round 1:
Fujita misses a lowkick, lotta bounce in both guys' steps. Silva misses a highkick, Fujita rushes in to get a knee, he misses it and Wanderlei rushes in smelling blood, hitting him with vicious knees that hurt Fujita. He's working for a double on Wanderlei in the corner, and gets it. Gets to side control, Wanderlei's head is through the ropes. Restart.
Restarted with Fujita in side control, tries to get to north-south, Wanderlei gets guard and is going for a triangle, now moves over for an armbar, he's got his arm trapped but he has to extend it which is where Wanderlei usually gives up an armbars. He's staying with this one, but Fujita manouvres out and is back in his guard
Fujita with some body shots in Wanderlei's closed guard. Wanderlei going for another armbar, moves his hips up, Fujita briefly has side control but goes back into Silva's closed guard as he moves with Ironhead.
Fujita trying ot get posture, not doing all that much in Wanderlei's guard. Wanderlei beginning to thing about holding an arm, ref calling for action. Left hand by Fujita, Fujita trying to stand up and get a wide base but not much happening. Trying briefly to can opener Wanderlei to get him to open his guard. Some bodyshots and hammerfists by Fujita
Wanderlei trying to trap an arm, more light punches by Fujita. It's stood up.
Yellow card assessed to Wanderlei.
They circle each other for quite a while without attempting to strike. Overhand right by Wanderlei, couple of weak lowkicks by Fujita. Nice wild Wanderlei style right hook sends Fujita backwards a bit. Fujita misses a jab, Silva misses a highkick, tries another wild hook which whiffs air.
Light lowkick by Silva. Light highkick catches Fujita in the face, and they circle. Lowkick by Wand, goes in with some trademark wild Silva hooks, some connect. Fujita's face is beginning to bruise up on his cheek and the centre of his forehead. More circling. Right straight by Wanderlei blocked. Lowkick by Wanderlei. They trade extrmeley light lowkicks. Wnaderlei misses a jab, gets a lowkick
Light lowkick by Wanderlei, ref calls for action as Fujita misses a lowkick, 1-2 by Wanderlei, and now they trade. Wanderlei drops Fujita with a hook as they trade punches, Wanderlei connecting! Tries to finish him on the ground with some punches from side control, Fujita gets up, they're trading! Wanderlei with soccer kicks, and punches, Fujita looks lost, another soccer kick by Wanderlei and the ref calls it.
Wanderlei Silva by TKO.

cool like yoshida but i think it's really shitty the japanese fighters can wear a gi in pride when it's pretty much standard worldwide that mma is fought no gi. i hope CC wins it all. also i hope france wins the cup.
peace outties,

The cro-cop fight was good, did anyone else noticed he gassed pretty early?
oh, and seeing leg-paralyzation KO's are pretty rare, so definetly a pretty cool match to watch for it's uniqueness
