That ref in the tito shamrock fight should be shot. It really shouldn't have been stopped like it was.

I agree I think Ken kinda got f#cked on that one
He could have taken alot more
But he still would have lost the fight in the end

I was surprised they stopped the Ortiz-Shamrock so quickly. If you saw the lightweights fight, there was blood flying everywhere. Yves Edwards wasn't defending himself, but it went on for at least 2.5 minutes.
Oh well, I guess different refs have slightly different judgements and have to call it the way they see it.
Also, I was glad to see Mir fighting again, but I think they handed him a couple of extra points.

**** man if you ask me this UFC sucked big time, i wanted Arlouski to win and not even counting the fact that he didn't but that fight sucked, i can't ****ing believe Arlouski didn't try and bring it to the ground especially in the last rounds. I thought after the second and even after the first that Arlouski was taking it for sure because Sylvia clearly looked gasped and its clear he's not in the best shape, but it seemed Arlouski just wanted to ride it out.
As for the Tito and Shamrock fight, i had an idea it would likely be quick, just for the fact that they wanted to murder one another but i was hoping it would last atleast a full round, and I can't believe Jon McCarthy wasn't the ref for that fight, i don't think it would of mattered if Herb Dean would of let it go or not because Shamrock was taking mean elbows and not really defending himself but i think if it was McCarthy he would of atleast gave the fight a few more seconds to see if shamrock could tie him up.
Really disappointed though by that UFC, i was expecting so much and got so little from the fights.

I honestly have to say that was probably the worst ufc event i have ever seen. I think the best fight was with stevenson. The ref Herb dean is a moron. He shouldnt have stopped the tito and ken fight. I think after that they should fight again. I think the tim sylvia and andrei arlovski fight sucked ass.
But i cant wait to see liddell fight again. He has got one hell of fight card coming up for his next few fights.

i don't know why herb dean was in there in the first place, a match like that, ya its not a title but i've seen McCarthy ref alot shittier fighters and fights then those 2, and its obvious McCarthy is the veteran out of the 3 that usually ref, i just couldn't understand why Dean was even in there, but like i said it probably wouldn't of made a difference but he should of let it go a little longer then he did like Horse said shamrock could of taken alot more and actually has in a few of his past fights and then turned the fights around.

Yeah, he was gasping like a fish out of water until that last burst of energy in round 3. Hopefully, Mir has his confidence back now and will get his conditioning up to par. God knows he used to tie people up in a knot at the first opportunity.

Mir looked like shit and arlovski didnt impress me against someone who is clearly not as conditioned as himself.

Please tell me no one actually paid for that hunk of shit? 85% of the fans are saying the only thing that made the PPV worthwhile wasPride Champion Wanderlei Silva coming into the Octagon announcing that he wants to **** Chuck "Beer Belly" Liddell up.
-------------------------------
And:
They did a piss poor ****ing job of introducing Wanderlei, "My friend Wanderlei Silva" lol
How about "Pride Champion Wanderlei Silva, folks"..and Goldberg sounding like a fool "Wanderlei, a superstar in Japan for some time now"...
Goddamn the UFC sucks, Pride has had Randy commentating fights as well as Chuck and they were always introduced as champ etc..and no BS hiding credentials like the UFC blatantly does.
They could have built that up 10x better...hell it was better when Randy mentioned Wanderlei after raping Vitor for the last time, Wanderlei had his GP belt on his shoulder and said he would fight Randy.
Still this is a good announcemne tbut a bit premature, Wanderlei has the OWGP to deal with which is momumental for him and Chuck has Babalu to worry about (i am guessing Babalu will work the fight). This fight is to big if a landmark for the sport of MMA and to have Babalu **** it up with a win over Chuck would be disasterous, especially after making this announcement.
They are blatantly looking past Babalu and that smells of a work in progress, i like how Dana added "If Chuck gets by Babalu", they would'nt make such a huge announcement unless they are sure Chuck will beat Babalu.

I kinda felt bad for Shamrock..the premature stoppage was similar to his previous fight with sakuraba in pride...
Oh yeah, and Frank Mir looked fat.
Overall, terrible ufc, i dont think they'll release this one to dvd.

I'm just waiting for St.Pierre and Hughes to go at it, but it seems Dana White is bum buddies or some shit with Matt Hughes so he ain't gonna put that fight together untill Matt says he's 100% which is ****ing bullshit.
-

Yeah this one did suck. I cant wait to so st.pierre and hughes again. Also i hope chuck liddell beats the f**k out of Wanderlei Silva.

with the tito and shamrock fight it could have gone either way you never know if they kept it going a couple more seconds shamrock most likely would have taken 6 more elbows to the head or maybe tie him up but by the looks of it he would have taken more shots to his head

I was highly dissapointed with the whole event. Frank Mir came in looking sloppy fat and out of shape. Shamrock wasnt even given a chance. Sylvia was my pick to win the title fight but my god that was one boring half hour. I think Yves Edwards and Stevenson was the best fight of the night and it was nothing spectacular. Ive been a UFC fan since back in the old days with no rounds, no weight classes, and next to no rules and have never been as dissapointed with an event as I was last night. I bet Dana White is sick.
