Someone actually posted a tread on sherdog about Bas Rutten being washed up
Man i am sure that this guy mother is flaming him in the ass has we speak.
This idiot said that Bas was joining the has been like Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie.
And that he fought a very weak opponant.
Villreal fought Dan Severn and Don Frye to a draw in KOTC.
How can someone be that dumb, Bas is a legend and i really hope that he plans on coming back for good.

I saw the one GQ posted and was quit good.
I would not class Bas in the top 10 but he was very good.

Bas is far from washed up. Villareal was not a top level opponent, but that shouldn't take anything away from how good Bas looked this weekend...his strikes were crisp and solid, and his kicks were obviously devastating. Hopefully he can overcome his injuries and come back against a better opponent.

if this would have been bas from 10 years he would be one of the biggest unsigned agents but he is older with injuries. I hope he has a couple more fights in him. He wont ever make a title run but I sure enjoy seeing him fight

That would be a good draw for a PPV event. I think Bas would tear his head off.

I wouldn't say Bas is washed up, but you can't deny he is showing some age. The guy's in his 40s. He's not doing those flying splits like he did back in the Pancrase days.
Shamrock would be a good fight for him cause they're both kind of in the same place in their careers - not quite done yet, but well past their prime.
