Marc Liamon
They way he spoke about the gracies really pissed me off. Without them he would not be making a living off BJJ also he started out training under a gracie Carlos I believe and even if Royce doesn't have the best things to say about Carlos or his students he still had no right to bag on him like that. Liamon doesn't compete even. Also I would like to point out how bad his guys do He made mayhem suck down to 170 after mayhem asked not to go down to that weight. baroni was 0-4 after switching he went to get some decent wins in pride like baroni or not he has fought alot of good fighters randleman was 0-4 I believe when he was with Liamon. Joe stevenson was 0-1 with laimon then switched to ortiz's camp and beat edwards. The only reason he is on the ultimate fighter is becouse he is a local of vegas. Also big ups to serra for handling it the way he did.

All I know about him is he seems like a total asshole. He is terribly outspoken. Last year at Grapplers Quest there was almost a fight between parents of lil kids cause Laimon would not shut up. The parents were pissed cause Liamon made his students oponent cry after that match cause of how he was acting, mind you this was a little girl...
Laimon and Cobra Kai came to a grapplin tourney here in SLC and he was just as out spoken. He reminded me of a lawer. ANYTIME there was a tiny thing in question for one of his students he would bitch like there was no tommorow but the second his guy would do it he would just turn a blind eye.
At one point in the tourney pretty much all the fighters and spectators (who werent from Vegas) were booing him and he was told to chill the f*ck out or leave. This happened before the episode or Serra calling out Laimon. During the tourney Laimon was talkin shit to a friend of mine saying that he sucked blah blah blah and my friend challenged him to a fight and then proceeded to also mock Laimon "oh yeah thats right you dont fight", oddly enough he didnt have anything to say to that.
None the less the guy seems like a complete as$hole. We talked with our instructor a few days later about this and he says Laimon is known worldwide for this type of horse sh*t.

well your right to a degree, records dont lie. liamon is only one peace of the mma puzzle, but a very important one. look at gsp's strikeing coach, done his dues in the ring, but never been in the cage. i dont see anyone jumping on his case? id rather have a specialest to help me in each aspect of my fight game (strikeing, westleing, submissons), then a jack of all trades master of none. limon is good at what he does as a specialty.

Laimon started BJJ under Royce in Torrance and now bashes him. Now i might agree to an extent what he said but the way he said it and in a public format like the reality show was uncalled for IMO.

I dont really know much about Laimons acheivments in BJJ but many fighter have a bad opinion of him because of his attitude and because they say fighters start to do worse when they train under him.
I was in chicago this summer and trained with shonie carter a couple of times they had just finished filming the TUF show and Shonie is actually very neutral i didnt hear him talk badly about anyone he's a class act when you meet him in person, but he did take the time to clearly say that Laimon was the least cooperative of all the coaches, he said he just sat down in the corner and was dozing off and the other coaches were working alot harder to help teach.
The reason Shonie mentioned it was because he felt Laimon robbed himself of future customers, all the other coaches did such a good job that the fighters wanted to move and train with them for sure at some stage, except Laimon he didnt do anything as if he was forced to be there.

i heard alot of shit that laimon can be a real prick but he is a really good teacher, and rorion and royce weren't very good to him. bottom line look at someone like marcelo if you want a bjj hero who's a good guy as well.
