Mma Top 10 Pound For Pound

These rankings are based on a fighter's accomplishments. I try to avoid ranking one fighter ahead of another based on speculation, because I think he can beat the other guy, or because he is stronger, faster or has superior technique. For how many of us thought Buster Douglas was going to get KTFO’d by Mike Tyson. Or, to cite a more recent happening in MMA, who assumed legend Jens Pulver was going to trounce unknown Joe Lauzon last September? Would even one in a hundred diehard fans have predicted that loss, and in such quick, brutal fashion?

Interesting choice for #10. 2007 looks to be a decent year for fights if some of these up in the air contracts get filled

no offense but it could use alot of work.

I hope you left "Kidd" yamamoto out becouse he is training for the olympics. Hendo needs to be on it, Filho for sure would have won the wwgp, shogun has been to inactive due to his injury he has one fight back. Kang break out tourny and Misiki I mean he won the wwgp even if he did get tapped before the finals. Shaolin is a great great fighter. It could use alot of work. Chuck should be below Silva, Silva has had way more competition, chuck is being fed grapplers. You missed alot of good fighters. A. Silva has a great win against franklin but so many deserve to be on it ahead of him. It could use alot of work

    1 fedor thats easy
2 crocop-owgp winner, beating yoshida. Also defeating silva and barnett in the same night.4-0 in 2006 with a loss to hunt on the turn of the new year
3.Silva-Revenged his only loss as a middleweight in the past 5 years(arona) and competed in and made the final 4 of the owgp.
4 Chuck-devestating wins but against grapplers Babalu is a some where between 5-10 as a 205 pounder an aging couture.
5 Gomi-avenged his only loss since signing to the pride roster.
6 Filho-Plain and simple would have won the wwgp, undefeated.
7 GSP-win over hughes and penn recently.
8 Hendo-1-1 against the wwgp champ and a dominating victory of the heavier belfort.
9 Hughes-not a huge drop avenged a loss to penn and lost to st.pierre simply more fighters deserving of being ahead of him
10 Barnett/nog-Close fight with a edge perhaps to josh on activity.

    honerable mentions
shogun just not active enough due to injury
    "kidd" yamamoto-out for the olympics
Kawajiri-One big win could send him to the top 5
Shaolin riberio-solid wins but needs more comp.
way to sum that one up.

Come on Filho is arguablly a top 3-5 p4p best. Hendo 1 loss and is off. Anderson silva has 1 good win this year, period. Silva at 9 is laughable right before this year he beat Arona who is higher ranked then any of chucks last fights. Shaolin is so debatable. Misiki won the wwgp(after his loss to filho) Kang Break out year almost won the wwgp

I think now looking over it I would go like

    Fedor
    crocop
    Filho
    Silva
    Chuck
    Gomi
    gsp
    hughes
    Misiki
kang/barnett/Big nog/Hendo lol all these guys are to close.
