only one way to find out,,.. After a workout go pick a fight on the street, and evalute your fight to previous fights
The only thing street fighting will get ya is in jail or a citation for assault.

HAHAH.... okee
street fighting is a type of mma .seriously
thank you... this thread is the exact reason i don't post much in here any more.
It is pretty sad
street fighting is a type of mma where you train and learn how to defend yourself if someone is using a weapon ,it trains you how to defend yourself if you undergo any problems in the street thats why its called street fighting ,i am not talking about going out and having a fight with someone in the street..peace
Go knock on Kimbo's door...and let us know where to find the link on youtube.
Can anabolics make me a better fighter? Im pissed off at my grandpa and I want to kick his ass.
yes its self defense but the common name for it is street fighting.
Street fighting is a term used to denote unsanctioned, usually illegal, hand-to-hand fighting in public places. The term also usually carries the connotation that the fighters are largely unskilled, or at least not professional martial artists or fighters. Participants may use basic boxing, kick boxing, wrestling, or common sense improvised tactics, including biting, eye gouging, hitting other participants with objects or throwing objects at them. Any rules of combat are dictated by personal choice or code of honour.
When street fighting escalates to include large scale destruction of property by numerous participants it becomes a riot. For street violence involving guns or explosives, see gunfight or urban warfare. While street fighting as an actual activity is relatively rare, street fight video games and films are very popular.
(YES I STOLE THIS FROM THE DICTIONARY) From my past MMA history i would have to agree that this has nothing to do with self defence! i would try to learn a more controlled typed of fighting..do u wanna learn more ground tactics or stand up skills. u could start with a beginner type of fighting like taekwondo maybe advnace to mui tai! or jui jutsu!
street fighting here is a type of mma and i know what you guys are talking about,so no need for more stupid posts ,maybe the term usd is diff but i explained it in my post ...peace
i live in egypt thats why maybe the term used for the sport is kinda different i am not sure, but i explained it in my posts ..peace
I say that lifting and anabolics can give you stregnth and that helps in a fight.... but I am also from the school of speed is power. With that being said, like one poster said it is all in the training. speed and power.
As far as becoming a better fighter, what cowboy-chris said sounded funny, but it is the real truth. really the only way to get better is to fight often and train hard. When I grew up fighting was how a kid defined his position amongst the neighborhood. Really fighting is for kids and super young adults in certain environments. Now as an adult, I think for the most part it is pointless. There are some circumstances that it might be called for, extreme circumstances only (defending your family). so train for it if you are paranoid, I guess. myabe your a kid?
I would focus on bodybuilding for your self and train in fighting tactics for the sport aspect, not for true fighting. Avoid those street fighting if possible. There is always someone bigger, tougher, or more lucky than you at any given time. Timing and luck is a huge factor in most street fights anyways.
oh, I went off on a tangeant and forgot to answer your second posted question. Body building will give you more stregnth, but you will lose speed. so you figure what you want to accomplish with it and take it from there. The amount of speed lost depends on person and training, but guaranteed that lots of muscle slows you down, but after a certain point you get to big for a small fast guy to handle.... so go from there and do your own math.
if you are serious about wanting to fight effectively you'll want (IMO) a body weight on the high side for your height and sub 12 % BF. I'm 6' and am currently 210 but my BF is around 15%. I am planning to get to around 225-230 and the ncut down to a solid 215-220lbs with 10% BF or so. I train BJJ and I'm a bouncer on the side. For me, 215-220 is a good compromise from speed and power and flexibility.
