However, in the UFC, so far as I know, and I do not keep up on it much, that there is a limit of 265 pounds.
But if there was not, and any size was allowable, could a monster be built to win using power-moves?
Take one of the big WSM contenders. Any one of these guys is world class strength athlete, and tend to be huge. Take Phil Phister or Magnus Sameulson for examples, 6’6” 330, and 6’7” 340 respectively.
If there was a guy with that kind of size and strength already there, and he was young enough, say < 30 years old, with the right trainer, and enough motivation, could they be trained to win in MMA, within a 3 year time period, and use the size + strength as an advantage?
This would be in a situation without a maximum weight class obviously.
Some of these guys are strong enough to simply break a guys arm easily, just by grabbing the upper arm and wrist and pushing it over their knee.
Or, on the other hand, would the size and weight make them so slow they would just get knocked out, cold, even if they had a few years of MMA training under the belt?
