JOE CALZAGHE v BERNARD HOPKINS
I hope Joe wins, but i think if it goes to points i think Hopkins will get it, its in his own backyard.
Hopkins fights under the promoters of this fight, and then there's the ref, i think when ever Joe lands one on Hopkins cortez will be in there like he did with Hatton.
Personally id love to see joe knock him out, but i dont think he will.
Also hope the british fans dont boo the american anthem, otherwise Cortez will be hard on Joe and the fact its damn right disrespectful.Last edited by shifty_git; 04-19-2008 at 06:32 AM.

I knoe nothing about Hopkins and dont particularly like Calzaghe, despite being Welsh... cant agree more about the Booing of the anthem, really pisses me off that kind of dissrespect, typical football thing to do, you woudlnt get a load of rugby boys booing an anthem at a boxing match.
All in all, i think its gonna be an all out war between these two fighters tonight, wish i could watch it.

Hopkins has never benefited from the judges decisions. Look at his losses to Taylor and the fact that two judges had him losing against De La Hoya before he knocked him out.
Cortez is a very fair ref and was hardly involved in the Hatton/Mayweather fight. I wish people would just accept the fact that Mayweather handed Hatton his ass.
Anyway, I want B-Hop to win but I think Joe is way too busy. He won't hurt Hokins but he'll be the busier fighter and eak out a 7-5 decision.
Can't wait!
The light heavyweight division in boxing is beginning to look as good as the same division in MMA. You got Calzagne, Hokins, Johnson, Jones Jr, and now Chris Byrd! Yes, a trimmed down Chris Byrd was on ESPNs friday night fights last night and he is walking around at 176. He said he can make 168 as well. Some mega fights brewing in that divisions.
I haven't even mentioned Pavlik & Taylor's willingness and ability to fight 175. Fireworks for sure. Boxing if definitely back!

Hopefully its going to be a great match! I got B-Hop in 12!
And as far as Ref Cortez,, he's one of, if not the best, in the game.. Very fair and professional..
Sidenote: Its going to be hella tough switching back and forth tonight between MMA and Boxing... Cant wait!!

Bernard is getting up there in age and will eventually lose, but I just can't pick anyone beating him... he is another one that just always wins.... I really like watching him fight... the dude is straight up hard core and if you ever wanted someone on your side in a fight... he would be one for sure....
It should be good

He let that white boy beat him...LOL!
Ugly fight, typical B-Hop fight and I knew Calzagne would win because of the pitter patter style. My hats off to Calzagne! I hate his style but apparently it works. He's a great champion and beating B-Hop is definitely an eagle's feather his cap!
