Evan Tanner Dead
This has been going on for a few days but Evan regularly posted on the UG and was planning a trip to go deep into the desert, deep enough to the point he admitted if he failed to prepare preoperly it would kill him.
He was reported missing last weekend...they found his motorcycle at an abondoned camp site...they then found a body and it has now been identified as Evan Tanner.
As many of you know, Evan was the former MW champion of the UFC. Not sure how well any of you know him but this is a big shock to the MMA community, especially to the hardcore fans.
RIP!

Very sad news....
Every man has the ability to be a fool, it is what he does to recover that shows who the fool really is.

Damn one of my favorite fighters. After his boat sank he said he was going to turn his life around and get back to where he was. I guess his loss when returning to the ufc was too much, man that was a tough match up, he hadnt fought in a while, shouldnt have taken such a big fight right away. Fuc that sucs. I talked to him right after losing to Franklin for a few seconds, the guy was still nice as hell after taken a bad beating.
Hope things are better Evan....R.I.P.

Guy's...some updates...Evan posted before going on this trip about his comment about people blowing his comment out of preportion about it taking his life if he was ill prepared. He said he was just going into the mountains like most people do in Southern California to shoot guns and have a good time.
“It seems some MMA websites have reported on the story, posting up that I might die out in the desert, or that it might be my greatest opponent yet, etc. Come on guys. It's really common down in southern California to go out to the off road recreation areas in the desert about an hour away from LA and San Diego. So my plan is to go out to the desert, do some camping, ride the motorcycle, and shoot some guns. Sounds like a lot of fun to me. A lot of people do it. This isn't a version of "Into the Wild". I'm not going out into the desert with a pair of shorts and a bowie knife, to try to live off the land. I'm going fully geared up, and I'm planning on having some fun.”Last edited by Panzerfaust; 09-08-2008 at 10:20 PM.
