Start slow and work your way up to faster times.

for the wieght loss, riiiight when you wake up in the morning, go grab a jump rope. 1 min on a jump rope is equivalant to about 7 mins on a tread mill. that will torch your fat. and its a pretty fun cardio.. i mean, atleast compared to running on a tread mill like a gerbal. it will also help improve your endurance.

Great idea with rope. Is running a passion or just a means to get back in shape and lose weight?

i did box alot when i was in the army and a did muay thai and weight lifting before i joind the army. but when i got out i have just sat around for nearly 2.5 years i put tones of fat on and just wana get bk in shape.
im not earning a lot of money at the moment because of uni and no full time job so im looking for a cheap and cherfull way of getting fit so i just thought running is as cheap as they come.
as soon as i get bk to a normal job( plus i dont wana get my fat ass k.o coz im not fit haha) i will start back either boxing or muay thai.Last edited by madmancman; 10-22-2008 at 10:47 AM.

Get yourself a copy of the Bas Rutten training cds, they are great and will help you lose weight get in shape and build up an amazing cardioé
The 29 minutes all around workout is just insane.
Along with some weight training usually full body workout 3 times a week and a good diet you will reshape your body for sure and be amazed of how you look in 6 months.

Swimming is also an amazing option as well. Great way to break up the cardio and still get the job done

Running in the morning before you eat is good for fat loss, when you run change the speed, run fast for 30 seconds and slow it down for 60 seconds and continue that for at least 15 min. I great source on running could be found a runnersworld.com. check it out they have a lot of good ideas on running and weight loss, also on this page under training they have a lot of good ideas as well. good luck..
