I think Forest rightfully got the nod but is was close. Page had a poor gameplan but still appeared to be the "better" fighter but Forest had the better strategy

im gonna throw this in the mix...there a few things a respect about griffin..heart is obviously one the other is his conditioning...its the one factor a fighter has total control over and this guys conditioning has literally won fights (shogun, rampage). People have varying levels of natural ability and skill levels due to background etc...the one factor that can tip the fight in your favor totally in your control is conditioning and this guy seems to work his ass off and always has it. JMO...

I could not agree more. It makes it real hard not to like him because of it. I know he caught a lot of grief after the Jardine fight for crying but to me that is what makes him great. He approaches each fight as if it is life or death which is so rare these days. It's crazy to think even at an elite level that heart and conditioning play such a role.

He is the superior fighter, In that fight I thought I was close, but really I like to see a knock out and think they should fight again. If that happens, My money would be on page. He will be alittle more prepare for it.

he definately looked superior at times but overall I thought Forest did enough to win. It's tough to find a fight as close as that one. Page does have a lot going on and I am curious to see how he comes out for the Silva fight. If he loses I think he takes several steps back especially with his legal issues looming

win lose or draw there are still great fights out there for him. Who wouldn't love to see Page against A. Silva, Shogun, Rashad, or Lyoto

Personally I wanted Page to win but I truly believe the decision came down to round 2 where Page just got dominated. But personally I believe it was to close to call and should have been a draw.

    Page would own Lesnar....hah hah.
A lot of people do make the argument that Page was the champ and in order to beat the champ you have to do it in convincing fashion and although Forest did enough to win in my opinion I am not sure that i can make the case that he "beat" the champ

^^^ imo old myth from the corrupt sport of boxing...fight is scored round by round winner at the end wins...period. (although if that were the case..valid point)

you are Probly right in all honesty. I guess boxing is not the model we should strive for and whoever wins the most rounds wins...period. From day one everyone said Griffen will lose his first defense but I like his chances against Evans and think he can hang with the entire division. I think people forget how big of a 205'er he is how decent his BJJ is. I think most of it stems from being on tuff

just because you like him does not mean hedid enough to win. Was it the kicks? Gameplan? Near submission?

Yeah point taken. I would have grabbed it and ran! I tried making the point earlier of having to "beat" the champ but my man jimmy blew a hole thru that theory that I agree with. I do believe that Forest did enough to win that fight and I wanted to just hear others thoughts as opposed to people just picking the fighter they liked more.

I hope Forest fights smart and defends that belt on Saturday night!

Page was not agressive enough in that fight, that's how he lost.

He was looking for that 1 key punch, but Forrest did not give him that chance.

Forrest controled page in the 2nd ground, but he never had page in any danger.

IMO Page had forrest more hurt in the fight, landing a few solid shots stunning him.

Forrest never had page in a position that he was in danger of loosing the fight.

It's just how you look at it though. The judges look who controls the match, who is more agressive.

Forrest deserved the win though, but should have been a split. The score cards did not match the fight.

Forrest lacks knock out power + Rampage has it in both hands + Rampage has a huge chin = Rampage should have been bullrushing and swinging instead of trying to box.

^^^All good points but Forest almost slapped on a triangle that was a lot closer to finishing the fight than anyone is giving him credit for. Those leg kicks were really taking there toll as well. Rampage definately hits harder I don't think you can find anyone that would challenge that.
