Another fighter suspended for winny..
UFC legend Ken Shamrock has been suspended for one year for testing positive for the steroid Stanozolol , as well as two Nandrolone -based substances, 19-Norandrosterone and 19-Noretiocholanolone, according to a statement issued by the California State Athletic Commission on Wednesday.
Shamrock, who turned 45 on Feb. 13, picked up a one-minute victory over super heavyweight Ross Clifton at Wargods “Valentine’s Eve Massacre” on Feb. 14 in Fresno, Calif. Shamrock’s production company also co-promoted the event.
Shamrock‘s manager and attorney Rod Donohoo said the fighter has adamantly denied the allegations and will appeal the suspension.
“Ken was taking legal over-the-counter products, and based upon our preliminary research, I’m investigating if those products were the result of these findings,” Donohoo told Sherdog.com on Wednesday.
Shamrock was scheduled to face fellow WWE pro wrestler Bobby Lashley in a headlining heavyweight bout for the Roy Jones Jr.-helmed Square Ring Promotions “March Badness” on March 21 at the Pensacola Civic Center in Pensacola, Fla. However, the Florida State Boxing Commission will likely uphold the CSAC’s suspension and an appeals process will not be completed before March 21.
Donohoo told Sherdog.com that he will request an expedited appeal.
“Ken is willing to submit to immediate testing in Sacramento to prove his innocence,” said Donohoo.
If the suspension is not overturned, Shamrock will be eligible to re-apply for licensure in California after Feb. 1, 2010 and will pay a $2,500 fine.

I'm only surprised that he didn't get caught earlier. Like 10 years ago. I don't much like the guy either but can't blame a man for trying to make a living. Or some extra cash, whichever.

I use to train w them until I found a better group, he still lifts weights at the same gym..He's anice enough guy. Of course he agreed to submit for immediate drug testing a few days later, he probably missed the timing on having it out of his system by a day or 2...Those guys are all well rounded on clearance times...

Sucks for ken. Anyone see Franks interview about ken? He says it's no suprise and he thinks Ken cut himself to get out of the kimbo fight. How the mighty have fallen

you know - i dont care for him - but i cant blame ken shamrock for trying to cash in - he was a pioneer and missed the big money -so he uses his status to now try to cash in - cant blame him i suppose - i just wish he would retire....

He might as well...He's never around to coach or train his fighters. I just found out today that 2 of them left and started their own school. Took the thai coach, one of the guys was the wrestling coach, they brought in a boxing group and their coaches as well as working with the local Charles gracie rep who has alot of high belt guys to help those guys. I think ken has maybe 4 guys left....

Ken left mma for greener pastures when the sport was really evolving and he never caught up and never will. The only guy he should be fighting is sean gannon.

Sean Gannon would probably submit him in the first round.
What I don't get is...this fight was at HW against a guy with no cardio whatsoever...what advantage was he trying to gain with the winny? I understand the deca , but...?

He's a legend. He helped make the sport what it is BUT the sport has passed him and he admits that. Thats why he will only be taking sideshow type fights like the 400 lb guy he beat recently. He still has a great fan base and I love the guy for what he did for MMA and he had some bad arse fights in his prime...
