Cro Cop Vs. Dos Santos
I keep reading all this bad, about Cro Cop, but honestly I don't think he looked that bad in the fight.
He took some serious shots, and kept pushing.
He came out in the 3rd round, pushing.
He was not able to get off many kicks, but it's not because he's lost a step, people have just figured out how to counter, or keep him off balance to avoid him planting and kicking.
I still thought he put on a pretty good show. Dos has some good stand up, he's a athletic HW and big too.
I think if Cro Crop could get his boxing a little better, learn some head movment, he'd be a lot better, but I he did better than I expected honestly.

i agree also cro cop needs to stop just thinking about landing that head kick and start to let them hands fly.. all he kept doing was puching dos santos he is a deadly striker and needs to show it if he wants to stay around

I agree, if he becomes more versitile, he could be a more devistating kicker.
Right now, he tends to be a little one demensional with his left leg being his only lethal weapon.
He has good hands, he just has not been using them as well. He did get that strait left going.
But he can't do the slug fest thing anymore, the new HW's are 20-30lbs larger than him, stronger and are not backing away. He has to use some movement to avoid damage.
As it is, he's walking around flat footed, throwing a strait left. Fighters know he's not going to take them down, and as long as they circle away, or press forward, he can't get off a solid kick.
He still did pretty well, despite these obvious problems, so I think he'll be fine if he can develop a little, but he hung right in there, he wants to fight.

Even if he lost he put on a very good fight, he needs to get back to the drawing board i guess, work the angles a bit more.
I am sure he still has lots of fight in him, but he has to be aware that most people know about is high kick now and are going to protect against it.
He looked really in shape this time around, and he train real hard for that fight it really showed, he lost a lot of fat, and looked really like the old crocop

Well he has good hands too, he's a strong guy for a smaller (smaller in today's class anyway) HW.
He's won a lot of fights off strait punches too, but he could use some defensive strategies now though. People use to be scared to engage him, but not anymore.
He could certainly utilize some leg kicks.
I find it funny though, in every class there seems to be a "best" fighting style.
Middle weight, anderson is tearing up with MT.
LHW, top fighters are probably Page/Matchita. Boxing/Karate
and HW seems to just be a power match up, and no one is really winning very consistently. Seems for a HW ground and pound could be devistating. It's not as easy for these big HW's to "pop" up like a middle weight, and put another 260lbs laying on you, and it's real tuff. But it seems to be a standing game for now there.
Brock is probably the closest thing to a dominate HW, and he's like a over grown Matt Huges.

Did you guys watch the same fight as me??? Looked to me like he was just trying to survive and he didnt. No counter punching at all, just tryed to get away when he was be advanced on. Of course he's not going to land the left high kick....it needs to be set up by some punching which he was affraid to do. GG ****ed him up, seriously, he's changed. That was horrible, hope he never steps in the octagon again.

Mirco was dishing out a beating for the first round. Somewhere along the fight, he completely stopped using his right hand altogether. Instead he would parry with opened hands and push Junior away from his. I'm predicting that Mirco seriously injured his Right hand.

I don't think so.
I think it's easy to look at CC and think that though, because he tends to stay emotionless in fights. He looks very humble and passive, no scowl or anger behind his fighting.
He was landing some punches though, and he was the one that pushed half way through the 3rd.
Half way through the 2nd, JR had cuts above both eyes, and forehead, CC was landing some punches.
I'm not saying he was winning, or he was putting on a show, but he did better than he's been, and did better than I thought he would have.

I'm sure we'll find out, CC seems to do interviews in his home land, so it will come out.
Reminds me though, off topic, but anyone see on TUF where Rashad is telling Rampage he "quit" against Shogun?
Shogun broke his ribs, and he did not quit, stuck in there even if he could barley defend himself.
It's like saying shogun "quit" when Coleman broke his arm.
If CC kept fighting with a broken hand, i re-grant him his bad assness.

Not sure about a broken hand, openning your hand to push away 250lber leaning into you hurts a hell of a lot more than jabbing with it. But either way, it would suck it that were the case.

Cro Cop Vs Dos Santos
Wow
Everybody was excited when Cro Cop joined UFC because he was real good in Pride and everyone thought he will become champ in UFC. That didnot even came close at all..
Maybe The UFC crowd and everyone else was too much for him.. It looked like he was not comfortable fighting the UFC way and hard to change his Pride training.......
