Thread: Tim Sylvia's Next Opponent Mariusz Pudzianowski

Tim Sylvia's Next Opponent Mariusz Pudzianowski

On May 21 Moosin: God of Martial Arts

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qm6oh4wqTKg
In the video it looks like they have a pretty good respect for each other then Mariusz throws a kick and the dude loses his balls and freaks out. I mean I could see being intimidated but he doesnt even fight back he just tries not to get hurt.

Tim will keep him at a distance with his jab but this dude wont be afraid to eat a punch and go for the take down. Granted he isnt a wrestler, im interested to see how that goes.

i dunno why everyone gets all moist in their panties about this guy he is a strongman hes not a fighter who has had a career of say 20 years like some of the best fighters in the world theres still no alot known about him..

1.) does he have a chin that can take punches? u cant put muscles on the chin we are yet to know that
2.) does he have endurance can he fight more than one round? we are yet to know
3.) does he have the heart of a fighter will he fight on even if hes being destroyed or will he quit

there just some thoughts off my head for u guys who love this guy we are yet to know much about him i will change my opinion when he gets tested

I like having the Pudz-man in MMA. His technique may be a little flawed and he may look unorthodox in the ring, but he doesnt have the traditional fighters build so he moves differently. He obviously impacts very hard and that neck will be hard to choke out and trying to pin him down may be hard, but I really wonder how he will progress if he can learn to focus that kind of power and be patient.

Im really looking forward to that. i don´t think Pudzianowski will be able to literally destroy Tim Sylvia like he destroyed Najman. but i can imagine he will still dominate the ring

yeah i agree with you guys no doubt there is potential there however i think he sounds great on paper but unsure whether he will even do well unless he fully focusses all his energy on fighting and working on a complete package and not just relying on all his power i dont fancy his chances against some world champions

You may think he cant "fight", but it looks like he can win a fight.

Really? I dont even know what you look like and im willing to drop 1 mill on this guy against you in the ring. He cant fight with top level "real" athlete fighters. But hell fudge the normal guy up.

    It's weird.
I can't think of another combat sport, or any sport, where a 1 fight novice (against a real plum) goes against a guy with title defenses as a heavy weight champ in the history of the sport. Statistically Silvia is the most successful heavyweight of all time in the UFC.
Should be an easy win for Tim, but after the Ray Mercer fiasco who knows.
Please win Tim, for the sake of MMA.

You may be right, but if silvia cant keep him at bay and from smothering him, it could get nasty fast.

The problem is that MMA is so diverse. Even though it doesnt happen much, it is still possible to win on strength alone just like striking alone.

l think he will shut silvia down but ld love to see him fight
someone after that, silvia is to much stand up and all out fight to beat this guy. lm not saying silvia is at all weak though it will be good.

when is this set to happen?

  22. #22
It's on the 21st of May and my bet is that Pudz does not have the head movement or foot speed to get past Tim's long jab. Even if he does get inside Tim is decent with uppercuts and Pudz isn't going to be able to ground and pound him.

Look for a repeat of the Jeff Monson fight.

I hope I'm wrong as I am a big Pudz fan but let's face it, he is not much of a fighter.

I actually think a lot of MMA fans have it all wrong.

What we are seeing is other athletes taking interest in the sport as it gains popularity. In the US, 5 years ago, 90% of people had zero interest in MMA.

You are listing some qualities of fighters, but you have to be an athlete too to compete at the pro level. Just like any sport, your athletic ability has a huge roll in how far you make it.

Don't assume I'm disregarding skill being an important aspect of MMA, or any sport. But if Lebron James was out of shape, he would not be the MVP of the NBA.

With that being said, we are not even seeing top caliber athletes fight yet. We have some real athletic guys, but very few would be in the top 10%.

If you are among the top 10% in College, when you peruse a career in a sport, do you shoot for the NBA, NFL, MLB? Where you can have a 15 year career and make 750k a year minimum? Or go the MMA route and make 3k for your first 10 fights, and if you are among the very best in the world, make 750k a year?

When other athletes want to try MMA, give them some respect for trying. With a few good years of training, the right mind set and being a great athlete, you can certainly make waves in the MMA world.

I can't see how having amazing strength, conditioning, agility and coordination could really hinder you in a fight.

^^^^hhahahahaha!!! Yeah, it's a fight not a bodybuilding contest. Still I agree, Timmy could have, at least, tried to look decent. But let's face it, when has Timmy EVER looked good in the ring?

    I just don't think he's "fluid" enough.

Reminds me of my friend who's strong as an ox, but can't throw a punch for crap. He'll tear your arms off but has the agility and the coordination of a rhino.

Strength is not enough if you lack stamina and he did lack endurance.
Technique comes later and in my opinion he could have won with a better endurance training.

Last week, I fought against André Galvão since he was in Rome for a stage.
In different circumstances but for the reasons explained above, after watching this video, I felt like Mario.

    Sylvia dominated the guy completely.
even though l called it the other way l am happy to see this win.
Tim showed real mma isnt at all about how big or strong you are.

MMA should be about real athletes only, without fatty ones around.

4-5 yrs ago, i would say Silvia has a better shot... now, im thinking he just gonna get run over like this other guy... Although Sylvia might be able to slip those long arms in with his counter punching! Either way, i would watch it!
