Yep! Dana White was absolutely livid with Silva's performance and antics during the fight. Silva ran and clowned for almost 3 rounds. Silva was unapologetic during his post fight interview as well and Dana didn't hide his disdain. Silva might have f*cked himself this time.

ya i watched the fight twice(i dunno why) and didnt notice the first time, but dana white didnt even bring out silvas belt. he just gave it to one of silvas camp. the pst fight interview said that was the first time dana has been so disgraced to not bring out the belt.

silva said in his interview that maia disrespected him. wtf is he on? that second round, nah the whole fight will go down in silvas history as to why he is NOT the best pound for pound fighter

well if you remember this isn't the first time white has been really pissed about how silva danced around the ring and avoided making contact or going after somebody.. in fact wasn't it the Thales Leites fight that white told him that he would never put up with him not fighting in a fight again....i mean in cote he danced around and cote ended up hurting himself to get TKO-ed ...

Silva is a great fighter, but he has learned he can just tire people out by dancing around then either win on the score card or attack late in the rounds....

the exception would be the griffin fight, but if you remember the whole entire first min there was not a single punch thrown.

for the record still very happy BJ lost, even though I admitt he has talent, I just hate his bitching and crying. and he also dances around the ring and doesn't go after people.

i am also glad bj lost maybe the commentators might stop licking his ass so much.

Silva was disrespectful but come on what was Maia doing, silva was openly mocking him in front of the world and all he done was watch what kind of a man lets this happen.

i kept thinking "hes going to explode soon" but no he just watched silva mock him.

man come on, maia is a smart fight, not a brute strength guy. he knows if he would just went in swinging with silvas hands down,he woulda been KO'd. we all remember he griffen fight where silva did this exact same shit.

i agree that maia could have done more, but on the otherhand silva was being an idiot and thats what it boils down to. the owner of the UFC wasnt mad at maia,he was choked at silva and for good reason

Bj was robbed something needs to be done with the judges scoring. Every time Edgar would come in to land a punch Penn would counter with a 3-4 hit combo. Can't believe they gave Edgar 50-45 when Bj wont the first 3 rounds and the first 2 was Penn all day

i watched the same fight as you knockout power, twice actually. cant muster up enough energy to watch it a third because of how weak BJ looked.

It was a hard fight to score but I think BJ lost!

I also don't get what the big deal over Silva is, I didn't like all his clowning around either but he gave Maia a beating. He was standing with his hands down trying to temp Maia forward and Maia was having none of it. Even when he went forward against Maia with his hands down Maia ran away from him.

I understand Maia's strength is the ground game but it was Maia being scared to engage Silva that made the fight boring. Silva may have looked like a bit of an asshole but he at least came to fight.

Sorry graeme87 you are right and wrong. The 1st 2 rounds Silva should have put him away. Any other champion would have finished the fight. From round 3 on Silva threw 3 strikes/kicks that's it. It was not something that GSP, Machida, Lesner would have done. They would have finished the fight against a clearly inferior opponent.

Silva's post fight comments were strange as well. He was asked why he was so lack luster from round 3 on by Rogan and his response (took 30 seconds with a translation that took 10 seconds?!) was Maia hit him a couple of times and was surprised with the power (not an exact quote but close) and so he stayed away. He also blamed ring rust on his performance.

Champions finish in every sport, MMA included. When a champion has a chance for a decisive victory they all seize the moment. Silva is not acting like a champion in the ring and he is causing some issues for UFC and possible future PPV purchases. It's a money thing and White has every reason to be upset.

    Just MO.

i completely agree with uou ocnorb40

i went to UFC 97 in montreal last april and watched the horrible leites vs silva match for 400 bucks a ticket to sit in a spot that i just watched the whole event on a big screen above the ring anyway.plus hotel+flight yada yada

the UFC is now returning to montreal AND then gonna be in vancouver the next month after that. i am not going to either now because of the shit PPV i watched and the 8 or so others like 112 and many others that didnt even have a title fight. i am sick of their shit. i mean i know they will fill the stadiums anyway and my money doesnt effect them BUT if this shit continues, especiallu with silva, others are gonna do the exact same thing and they are gonna wreck what could be one of the most profitable sports of all time

Im sick of all the bs opponents they give anderson silva. He should be fighting more in the light heavy weight division and not against james irvin or forest griffin type fighters, I want to see him against Shogun, Evans, Rampage, or even Machida. These match makers need to pull their heads out of their asses and come up with some better opponents for Silva and give the people thier moneys worth.

I second that, How in the hell did Penn lose? he had a counter attack for everything Edgar threw at him?

What was that half ass fight with Silva vs Maia, how to disrespect a fighter that was.

Bring in Belfort, that is a fight i really want to see, sure the ending will be very different.

Belfort last fight have seen him bring the old one out.
