ok guys i need to know from some of you runners what are some of the best brand od running shoes?
the reason i ask is that i'm a fire fighter and i'm in the middle of transferring to a new ***t. and i've got to get ready for the 1 1/2mile run in 12 min.s.
well i'm 5'7'' and 210 lbs. not fat,and i'm also a powerlifter, and also have a serious problem with shin splents,so that is why i asked.

nike shox!!! expensive but the best shoe i've ever run with for distance. I 've competing in track and field for 9 years and shox are the best Ive ever had for road work. Wish i had them back then. NB's are great but wont last as long.

Shox are real comfortable, but look it up they are often reviewed as terrible running shoes because of how high they are (tendency to roll your ankle very easily). I never run with those things anymore as I have rolled my ankle quite a few times with them as well. I go with puma/adidas running style shoes, but nothing with a high platform in the back.

asics make running specific shoes and will fit shoe to an individuals foot based on wether you are a pronator ect ect (run on the ouside of foot or use more toe than heel). Go to a specialist running shop for fitting and test drive!

^^What PB said. I went to a runner's store, the told me what I needed, showed me what to choose.

I would never wear anything other than Asics, again.

The issue i had with Asics was the durability issues. Its like the dissolved in water with me. They were light and comfortable. Addidas are bulletproof but you need the right fit

Brooks running shoes are by far the best I've ever used. Get them fitted at a running specific store as well.
