What's your diet and training schedule look like right now? That would help answer any supplemental questions.

That's a whole lot of weight to want to put on by January. Especially for an athlete. What are these coaches saying, you need more power in your swing?

No they are saying i need to be stronger then what i am now..im a catcher and only weigh 190-195 so they say i need to be over 220 by next season, if i am wanting to go to the "next level." What would be safe to take but will help put on weight fast! Maybe a higher dose of a legal anabolic or...? Just need some advice guys, that is all i am asking.

I ask just because I'm suspicious of what juco.colleges coaches say. Having played Div I and pro ball quite a few years, I've heard alot of garbage spewed out by coaches as to what they think takes a guy to the next level. Personally, 6'3" and 'only' 195 is not bad. You have room to grow and will. You'll be alright if you just keep going naturally. If you have a good arm and some basic instincts behind the plate, that's all you need. Frankly I think someone your age (as a juco I assume close to 20yrs old) doesn't need to resort to that yet and I hope some idiot coach isn't causing you to feel pressured to do so. Personally I think some coach telling you to be 220 by next season is full of shit.

Look, 35 pounds is just way too much. I'm not the preaching type, I've just seen guys your age get hurt and I think guys here would agree it's hard to put on that kind of permanent weight no matter what you take. Thing is as an athlete, as a baseball player, the most I recommend you put by then is a good solid 10 pounds. Any more than that, you're risking injury that'll negate whatever strength you gain.

wanna put on some weight ehh?? bulking diet is the way to go. u can find alota info on a bulking diet on this forum, just use the search function. as for exercise, possibly critique your training. some GOOD workouts to place into your training include deadlifts, still leg deads, barbell squats, clean and presses, barbell bench press. don't know if these workouts fit what your trying to accomplish but they do put on the mass for your next weight in next year. just learn how to do them properly. i implemented squats and deadlifts and continue to put on mass weight

I play Minor League Baseball bro and our organisation has plenty of catchers around the 200 mark. Our best catching prospect just got called up to the pros and he was at 200 in spring training. Play alot of long catch to get your arm strength up and focus on your lower body and core in the gym. Any rotational movement in baseball starts in the legs and is tranferred through the core. Good luck with your upcoming seasons. Oh. And if you do decide to use AS, weigh up the option wether its worth getting caught with. I know pro teams are relucting more so than ever to draft guys who have been popped in college. They figure they wont get any better because they are playing above their natural peak performance.

As a juco college baseball coach I can tell you that there is no right weight for you as a catcher. If your strength is a problem, it should be dealt with in the gym. If your coach puts a number on your ideal weight, he's a moron. You will have to address these types of issues if you're fortunate enough to sign later on, but right now, just train hard. No D1 program worth a damn cares more about your weight than the numbers you put up on the field and in the classroom.
