First off Welcome to AR.
Secondly, read this:
I want to add about 3 to 5 mph on my fastball
Now honestly i dont know of a steroid that will actually increase throwing power.
If you are looking for strength gains with limited weight gain there are options.
Im going to have to tell you right off the bat, your BF% is too high to begin a cycle.
How old are you? What leauge do you play for? D.1 College? Are there gonna be any testing issues?

Im 19. Play at a D3 school, but the plan is to transfer to a D1 after my sophmore year (this year).
Testing is not an issue. They really only ever test us during the later stages of the playoffs, and we rarely make it to the early stages.
And the bf I posted was wrong. My bad, its 15%, still high though, isn't it?

Welcome to AR! I'm in agreement with war4BTT. Also, I'd like to bring up some additional points to consider:
I think you're too young for steroids . I played D1-AA football and never took anything. I lifted my ass off, ate a lot of meat, eggs, & potatoes, and played my heart out during practices & games. My body grew another inch and my LBM went from 185 to 215 at 8-9% BF over a period of 4 years (18-21 y.o.).
Rather than looking to steroids, you should be having your throwing motion picked apart by a high-level pitching coach. Consider attending a professional training camp for pitchers. Any increases in pitch speed will come from changes in your throwing motion. Also, get that BF% down to 10% or less.
If you do decide to go the anabolic route, stay away from Winny. IMO that would be the worst steroid for a pitcher to take.

~~~I've had my motion picked apart and rebuilt when i was 14. Now, it is "Perfect", at least that what my private coaches tell me. And I have gone to a few professional tryout camps and was told that if I could get another couple mph, they would sign me to a minor league contract
Their not perfect. And that's no knock on you on your coaches, it's just that I don't think I've ever seen any pitcher with perfect mechanics, much less someone your age.
I agree with the other post, it's too soon for you. You should def pick up strength and MPH naturally in the next few years. Believe me if you do, pro scouts will be just as interested in you then as they could be now. The 2 best things you can do with your arm is #1 throw year-round (long toss, & give yourself a break from the mound every now and then), and #2 work your rotator cuff. The off-season I discovered how to really strengthen the cuff I got a pretty good boost in my arm strength. It's an indirect way of achieving MPH (strengthening your decelerators) but it works.
Beyond that, core work involving a lot of rotational movement is a big plus.
I think your throwing motion is perfect regardless of what the others say. In all honesty, everyone above is spot on. I have taken a cycle while hovering around 15% and it was not near as effective as one taken at sub 10%. You will find some out there that disagree but all I can do is let you know what worked for me.
So what would be the best for a pitcher to take? As a pitcher stand point i would probaly wnat something with little weight gain and mainly recovery and strength. What would you guys reccomend for strength and recovery?
I think a "ball player" should be able to use sometihng for recovery, just casue htere is so much stress and tear in all aspects of the arm. I would like to get on a cycle of whatever would help recover faster.
No i play both Asimov, my coach says i could go d-1 for pitching casue i have the arm strength and mechanics, but i dont know if my arm will hold up if i pitch! If i can get something that can help with recovery's then i may try that, but i play j.c. ball right now and i am looking to transfer into a bigger school next year but i dont have the size for a "minor-league" catcher as i have been told by many scouts. They say i have an arm of a pro and the pop-time of a pro but the size isn't there, so i dont get why it would matter, that is why i need some advice on what to get or take? If you have any suggestions, please let me know, or just pm me! Thanks
Gotcha. Well, I think we went over this in the other thread, you're a bit young to be thinking about AS, you don't need it. Obviously with posting in these diff threads, I can tell your anxious, you want to do this and you need some answers. I don't blame you for wanting to know. But the guys here are right when they tell you it's too soon for you. It'll be a quick fix for you, but you'll prob cost yourself down the line. Making it professionally usually takes a few years of playing minor league ball, do you want it catching up to you then? Hell no, you'll never make it if things catch up to you in minor league ball, patience my friend.
Go natural. This isn't lecture, this is experience bro. Eat, eat, eat. Between 18 and 22 I went from barely touching 85mph to throwing 93-95. That was just by putting on 30 lbs naturally in 4 years of college. And I was still a twig at 6'2', 195lbs. You're already bigger than I was. What you need to focus on is your arm, in particular your rotator cuff. And just knowing what workouts typically are for guys your age, your cuff is prob very underdeveloped.
This is experience talking here. I'll post or PM a program on that for you, but it'll take some time to put it together. Trust me, this can be done naturally, I got great results. And you have so much time to take advantage of this since it is barely October. You can't artificially get better endurance or mph via a typical AS cycle and lean mass gain, pitchers just don't work that way. Your cuff is the first thing that needs attention when it comes to endurance, mph.
In the meantime, what kind of rotator cuff program do you currently do? If none or little, no prob we can start from scratch. Just gives me an idea of # excercises, internal/external rotation, weight (should be between 3-5lbs), that kind of thing. Trust me, get aggressive with this, you'll be amazed what results you can get in just 6-8 weeks, naturally. Gimme some info, we can go from there. I've got no other advice I can give at this point.Last edited by asimov; 10-09-2008 at 04:43 PM.
And P.S. - Scouts don't always know whats best and they don't always have the kind of experience it takes make the kind of judgments you listed in your thread. I know scouts who played a half season of A-ball and went straight into scouting. Some of those guys guys are full of it and their sole responsibility is to pass off the names of guys they like up the chain to higher scouts whose opinion actually matters. No scout worth their weight is gonna pass on you over weight issues, only the ones who don't know any better. At this age, if some guy tells you something like that, f&*k 'em, move on to the next scout, D1 coach.
