Forgive me if this is a stupid question!
Okay first let me just state that I am doing my first contest this July and I want to come in well I don't know what weight. It is a local show, but the Money is good: its $2,500 and a year free tanning and Gym membership where I train.
My question is that I have recently lowered my Carb intake and I feel like shit. I am still doing very good in terms of how much wait I lift, but I really do not have enough energy to do two body parts a day with 100% intensity.
I am very moody, especially in the morning, and, well let me know if my carb intake is to low;
Meal one: Protein shake and packet of oats
Meal two: 8oz of chicken breast and cup of white rice
Meal three: Can of tuna and 2 pieces of wheat bread and a banana
Meal four: 8oz of chicken breast and cup of white rice
Meal five: 6oz lean steak and one bake potato
GYM For 1hr no cardio yet
Meal six: protein shake, cup of OJ an 1 slice of wheat bread.
I am so hungry all day too. I used to eat about 3 burgers for meal 2 and 3 chicken sandwiches for meal 3 and tons of my moms Latin food......
So I am not sure what to add or subtract, but I feel a little to weak during the day and really cannot focus...
Please guys, I need some help..
Ps I ate some jelly beans early this morning and added a little more rice and was able to focus a little more.
Thanks in advance,
Spirit.

First a little more info. How heavy are you? What is your BF%? What weight class do you hope to be in? Are you using AAS or doing this naturally?
Here are some quick tips.....drop the bread completely, change white rice to brown rice (use water only, not butter and salt as the directions call for), change the white potato to sweet potato (yam) and do not eat any carbs after 7:00pm except for veggies. Add scrambled egg whites with oinion, green pepper and a minced garlic clove to your daily regime, this will help with hunger pains. Make sure to drink a minimum of 1 gallon (preferably 2) of water per day...no soda and limited black coffee. Use an ECA before training, it will not only speed up your metabolism but will give you an energy boost.

I would maybe drop the protein shake in the morning, and eat some meat in its place?? Maybe also in a few of those meals with the chicken and brown rice, add some broccolli or asparagus, or salad.
Latin food is sooooo good.....I miss it tooTEST DOES A BODY BEST

Thank you all for the quick response.
I will take the advice in and see what happens.
Ann and Pete thanks.
I am 235 at 5'7 and have been training for 6 yrs now. My bodyfat is about 10-11%.
The thing about the show is that there is no wieght class really. Well last year there wasn't one. So I would like to come in at a weight like about 215 at maybe 5%bf.
I am taking EQ and winnys right now.
Thanks again.
Spirit.

Drop the EQ (and add something else) and you won't be as hungry...it's good but the trade off when dieting isn't worth it to me...
It looks like you are around 300g of carbs (give or take)...that's my load amount so i can't give an unbiased opinion on if that's low
Eat as much real food as possible...shakes maybe fill me up for 5 minutes
Where are you eating any fats besides the 6 oz steak? Even adding 2TB of natural PB a day can do wonders with appetite, focus, sanity...What happens here, stays here

replace the white rice with wild brown rice, replace the wheat bread with oats, and the potato changed to sweet potato, your on the right track but your feeling like shit because your insulin levels are like a rollercoaster, all the carbs you have been eating are high glycemic carbs.
add alittle nat. peanut butter to oats

I just got back from the supermarket.Bought;
brown rice
oats and some sweet potato.
Sounds like fun!!!!!
In terms of post work out meal, which is usually my last meal of the day.
Should I go with Protein shakes or Solid food like either fish or grilled chicken.
Thanks!

I was about the same weight a month ahead of you. I am a little taller at 6'2" I am now 10 days out and have dropped to 4% at 218. My diet for the last 2 weeks has changed in that I cut my carbs in half to <100gm and kept my protien at @300gms with 30gms or so of fat. No shakes or bars the last 3 weeks. Here is my day:
7:00 4 eggbeaters, 3 oz flank steak, 1 cup oats 49p, 27c, 7f
9:30 4 eggbeaters, 3 oz flank steak, 1 cup oats 49p, 27c, 7f
12:00 4 oz chicken tenders (5% fat), 1 cup oats 26p, 27c, 3.5f
2:30 4 oz chicken tenders, 1 cup broccoli 30p, 6c, 4f
5:00 4 oz chicken tenders, 1 cup spinach 30p, 6c, 4f
7:00 16 oz chicken, or fish 1 cup broccoli 104p, 6c, 16f
290p, 90c, 42f
1898 cal
232 @ 12% march 1, 218 @ 4% 10 days out. this shit works if you stick to it. My only weakness was 1 tblspoon of peanutbutter the other day and I made myself do an extra 30 min of cardio as punishment! oh and Winny, Halo and Fina to keep the mass.
