dextrose while dieting
ive reaserched i cant seem to come up with a straight answer...is dextrose/whey fine while deiting or should i stick with just the whey?....i thought the main reason for the dextrose is to create an insulin response to spur growth and refuel carb stores, but i obviously dont expect to gain while deiting, just maintian...is this just hurting my fat loses? My first comp is in 8 weeks, so this is all new territory, any thoughts appreciated.

The only time to use Dextrose is stright after training, stop it 2 weeks out from your show. I use hydro whey right up till I cut my sodium.

Many people and books say it okay for after a work-out,but when dieting i would touch it keep your carb as low as possible all carbs do is slow the fat-burn process down.
I judge for bodybuilding shows and the people do best in the shows don't take dextose or and keep there carbs low.Let of know how you do in the show.A pic of yourself would be good to see far along you are.Best of luck!

If your eight weeks out, I would cut it out in a few weeks, unless you feel your behind schedule on peaking for your show...if you feel your behind, cut it out now.

I've read conflicting studies, some say that the GI of carbs consumed PWO doesn't matter, and some say it does. I used to do 50g whey, 50g dextrose, 50g maltodextrin but I'm 4 1/2 weeks out so I'm doing 50g whey 50g maltodextrin. Probably dropping the malto to 25g after another week or 2 before the carb depletion.
