I need some help on planning my carb-up. I have been on CKD for the last 10 weeks. I have been carbing up 36 hrs on the weekends and then staying in ketosis during the week. I have my carb sources planned based on the foods I have been eating during the diet. I need help planning how when to start my carb-up. I am already thoroughly depleted from ketosis and the cardio. I think by Tues I will be completely depleted. My last carb-up was last Sat (5 days ago) and I plan on staying in ketosis through the weekend and start one last carb-up to the contest. I was originally thinking of following my normal carb-up starting on tues night after my final weight session, and then carb-up starting with the typical hi-glycemic carbs and then working my way into low-glycemic as insulin sensitivity is lowered. Finally I was planning on sh1t-loading on Saturday morning before the show. I plan on cutting water fri around 2pm. I will be using an OTC diuretic starting thurs and running through sat. My CKD diet has plenty of sodium in the foods I am currently eating so I wasn’t planning on trying to manipulate sodium as I think it will drop when I switch up for the carb-up.
Anyone have any ideas or thoughts on when to start my carb-up and how many carbs to take in on each day? Typically I have been going with 8g carbs/kg LBM first day, then going to 5g/kg the following day, but I have not carbed up for more than 48 hours since starting this diet and I don’t want to spill-over. Thanks in advance guys!
