When to diet/Cardio...
Hey boys, doing a comp oct. 7th, but I can't decide when i need/want to start my diet/cardio....because I'm already fairly lean, and i don't want to lose muscle for the show because i dieted for too long...I'm just finishing up a bulking routine that I have been doing for 2-3 months now, so I'm ready to diet, but I'm trying to figure out how many weeks I'm really gonna need to cut down...Attached are some pics...

your currently about 9 weeks out. yo ushould have alread started. loose 2 lbs a week and you wont loose muscle mass. i stay much leaner than you and I start dieting about 12 weeks out. end up taking about 30 lbs off. 24lbs plus water = around 30 lbs. also I suggest you go up to of this forum to the stick FULL POSING Video and start practicing. good luck bro.

Well what I'm confused about is exactly what weight i should be aiming for? like what weight is the weight at which I'm pure muscle and not just being catabolic...Also, My diet was adjusted by WEBB, and it encorporated alot of eggs, which A. I hate and B. aren't they high in fat anyways???

like i mentioned in the pm, do not go by weight go by how you look, its not about mass, and weight, it is how you look...also i pm'd you about eggs, they are not dairy and you are just having the egg white so they are lower in fat and i believe they are ***** 3 fat so that is a better type of fat...

Natty shows aren't really natty Just a little FYI. Also JMO from what I've seen/heard from friends who compete.

And you can broil many more eggs at a time correct???
-
07-31-2006, 12:55 PM #19
Get egg beaters and measure them 1/4cup at a time.. easier and almost just as cheap..
Don't get so hung up on one food, your overall diet/cardio will determine how much BF you lose.

And like Webb said, dont worry about your size, worry about your condition.

K, sweet, Now as far as my routine goes? should I be going balls out in terms of lifting? Or just mainting muscle? Because It seems to me that this diet isn't a mass builder by any means???

for the most part they are, juges can tell who has used and who hasnt, by skin tone/vascularity/ect, all i have ever been to are natty shows and my 3 other roommates have competed in natty shows, i just know what to expect going into one. and have seen the type of people that compete in these show most natty competitors are just gifted with great genetics, and you mix with that with diet and training and you get an awsome natty competitor. Im just saying from the natty competitors iv seen Undecided is just not quit ready IMO, he has good legs but just not enough upper body thickness, he will come in to light and boney

if you want to compete, do it. doesnt matter what others think.
you asked for opinions, well, what do you think you will look like at say 6%bf? do you think you have muscle maturity and density to hold a nice physique when the fat is off? if you think yes, then start today. you have very little time left to decide. but dont be mad if you start cutting and realize you overestimated your current potential. happens alot with young guys who just start getting serious with weights.

I honestly think that I can look really good if I can get myself into "contest" shape, I think after this 9 weeks and after this diet I think, plus a tan, lol, I think I will turn some heads honestly...

there is no time exactly to be "ready", anyone can compete at any time, imo, undecided just try to come in as best as you can and get the experience you need to do other shows in the future

To be honest I would hold off on this one, concentrate on adding some more overall mass and think about a show at a later date..

No offense but there is a reason he placed "9th", because he was the only one that showed up natty.

Yep looks great! Goes to show you guys drugs are only a very SMALL part of this game.. but I doubt anyone will see that as many rely on them on this site. Too bad.

No flame here but you just started working out properly (i.e using a proper meal plan schedule, learning the basics) and already you entered your self in a competetion?
I remember you getting flames just 3 months ago for wanting to run a cycle at 21 I believe? bahhhh just keep hitting the weights hard and stick to a nice diet and you will be ready maybe next year.

I think I can do it, plus I want the experience of the show and the diet and the preperation...I wanna do it for more reasons than just cause "its time"...Also, we won't really know how I can look for this comp until I'm done with these 9 weeks, so I'm willing to bet, knowing my body, that I can look pretty good! We will see...

well maybe you should just try to peak, and see what happens you can make alot of mistakes the first time around, you may be able to look good, but its much more than that, there is poseing how you carry yourself and so much you cant really explain it someone just has to show you, IMO i whould never try to do a show unless i know i could land in the top 3 but what ever you decide to do good luck.
