    First timer at 35. Questions

I have trained for years. I have always been more of a powerlifter but want to try a bb show before I cannot. I am currently 5'10" 225 about 17%. I am planning on doing a show in June of 07. Questions:
    1. Do i need a trainer to get ready? I know how to train but not getting close to the show dieting etc.
    2. Should I bulk up until 16 wks out or start cutting down now?
    3. I have a slight case of gyno. I figure with looks of diet it wont look at bad. Not sure however. Comments? My gyno is mostly fatty tissue a little gland.
    4. Is there an 35 and over class?
    5. Should the cycle go up the date of the show. I assume prop/tren?

I figure I will come in at 170 if all goes well. Any other guidance for newbie to bodybuilding?

stats. 34, 35 at time of show, 5'10", 225. 5 cycles over 15 year period.

Gyno will get smaller with lower BF...I would diet now to get down to 10-12% and then bulk up for 2-3 month but try to stay in the 12-13%BF ten diet for 12-14 weeks...gear you can use all the way through to the show, types you will hear hundreds of combinations...if you never sieted for the show a) do a lot of research on how to get ready (there are some stickie threads in this forum that will help, one is mine) or b) hier a trainer/nutritionist...and i think masters starts over 40yo...good luck...XXL

Yeh second that, just lower your bodyfat a little, and it will be much easier for you in the long run. You have been training for years so i think your going to really be surprised about the quality muscle that will show through when your bodyfat is lowered. PS. there is actually still a lot of time for you in bodybuilding. I have many friends who compete in Masters category and look great. All the best.

Thanks for the info. I am finishing up my current bulking cycle and plan to start a cutter next. The last time I tried to cut I lost so much mucle and hope to use what I have learned her to improve my cutting.
