    Whats your take on shitloading for a show?

    I did this last year and it seemed to work pretty well, a few of my friends are telling me not to, but they're pretty old school. Another guy is telling me NOT to cut my water because he says I need the water to make the carbs work. I was planning on cutting the water at 16-18 hrs out, then eating some doughnuts or candy bars the morning of the show about 3 hrs b4 stage time. Who here does it?

    I was gonna ask the same thing SS, bump for the experts....My buddy who competes also told me that water deprivation is becoming less and less prevelant, more thoughts on these things though needed...

    Yeah, your not finding as many guys dropping all their fluids anymore, thats for sure, and alot of them are getting away from diuretics as well. The look now seems to be fuller muscles. I may cut the fluid intake down a great deal, but not totally drop it, however if I do that then I wont junk up the morning of the show.

    On that note SS, I'm of the opinion that the water will help drive the junkload into ur muscles, along with the carbs, and make you look more full, the effect of the junk might be diminished if the fluids are depleted, IMO...

    I think this plan is prety sound. I would have a small shitload meal the night before as well though (bedtime) you will wake up in the night to piss and look great. I did this and did not even have to use diuretics either, but I was having 4 gallons of water the last two days b4 I cut it out.

    Dude, I am not trying to be a dick here, but why are you giving all this advice if you ahve never experienced these thign before first hand? I know you are in the middle of prepping for your first show and you are probably learning a lot about the body and are very excited about everything, and I am sure you have studied these things to some degree, but some of the things you say are very flawed and it worries me that some people may take some of this advice to heart causing problems with their own prep. I am not flaming you bro, jsut be carefull with this stuff. I am not expert myself, but I only give my two cents or advice on topics where I am sure I knwo what I am talking about.
    OF COURSE, water is needed to fill out the muscle with carbs/sodium/ etc, that is BASIC science, but just because you cut water 12 hrs b4 the stage HARDLY means you will HAVE NO water or not enough water to transport sufficient nutrient's to the muscle in order to "fill it out"

    Water has very littel to do with absorbing carbs, however sodium must be present for the digestion of carbs to take place, that's why the use of junk food during shiatload...high sodium = high and fast absorbtion rate, well that's one of the reasons...cutting water at 18 hours should be good for most, it is for me...and drink as much water as you can before the cut off point, DO NOT GRADUALLY REDUCE THE FLUIDS...XXL

    I will say that fat loading is certainly the best arsenal in the final day of the contest, but the key is truly getting it right so youre spot-on....i know this is risky and goes against MikeXXL's current views but for me my best condition was fatloading big time the night before the show (half a pizza, 6 donuts, and cheesecake)...letting it absorb....then waking up nice and full, and super dry....from then on i ate clean carbs and cruised to the show with no worries...CD

    Thats an interesting take...and a very annoying one seeing as I'm 4 weeks out on saturday and all I can think about is a meal like that, jerk, hahah, jk...But interested to see XXL's response to that...

    He knows i agree with him...my only change in last while has been moving up this meal to Saturday morning before the show, Just to make sure there is no spill over, but eating it friday will work for sure...XXL

    Last season I think I ended up having a country fried steak and a few onion rings w/ a salad Friday night, then Sat. morning I had 6 krispie kreme doughnuts, 5 candy bars, stack of pancakes w/ syrup, bacon and a few eggs, and a pack of skittles as I pumped up, it made me look ****ing killer. You always hear these guys saying the same shit over and over again "I looked better the next day, I looked better at the night show" you hear it because these are the ones who were afraid to eat. I'm carbing up w/ alot of grits and potato's Wed and Thurs(4-500 grams Wed,7-800 grams Thurs) Friday will be my fool proof day where i'll drop back to 250-300 grams just in case of a spillover. I think I'm going to keep it clean Friday night, then Sat morning at 5:30 -6am, let the shitloading begin my friend!!! Oh, and I'm carbing w/ a shitload of Vitargo too previous to Sat morning, I love that shit. Everybody has been telling me how full my muscle bellies look lately, and thats only on 200 grams of carbs daily, cant wait until I'm carbed up!! 9 days boys, 9 days to go!!!

    no, I dont take the one w/ creatine in it, its not the nutrex brand. Although I've heard good things about nutrex if your a creatine fan
