    contest diet confusion

My coach who is a powerlifter is giving me advice that is confusing. I am 12 weeks out started dieting, droped fat, simple sugars and started slowly reducing carbs, and started cardio. He has told me not to lose wieght yet, I need to do this only six weeks before comp. Idealy this would be fine but I have some fat on the waist and on the chest area, not a good look in comp. I believe this is hard fat, that will take longer to move. Am I right, another guy an ex body building champ and british champ, said I was right to start now and then coast in and carb up. What do you think?

It all depends on your current bodyfat and circumfrence measurements. Without those it is hard to make judgement.

Figure you could lose about a quarter inch off your waist weekly so you are looking at 10 or more weeks of dieting. That's if you lose every week though. I would say that 12 weeks is enough if you start dieting now.

It does also depend on how long it takes you to lose the fat. Some take longer than others so unless you know your body well I would probably start at least dieting. If you are losing inches without doing the cardio then that's good and keep it out til you need it.

Thanks, no disrespect to powerlifters here, but I was told never to take dieting advice from a power lifter. I am using tren, prop, and var. Amazing I see something new every day, but those stubon areas are a real pain.

Who you take your dieting advice from is your choice. However, whatever, and whoever you choose, stick to that one person, and listen to him only. If you are going to question the person whom you trust with your diet, then you need to rethink your situation.

Whether you take advice from yourself, a nutrition guru, or a former Mr. Olympia, you have to trust that person 100% or else you're in for a total disaster.
