    carbo loading before show

the day before my show ive been told to drink as much water as i can up untill 6pm then stop. My question is if im drinking all that water would it be ok to add Maltadextrine to it? its a complex carb and it seems that no matter how dry you keep your carbs that day your putting 6 ltr of water on top of it anyway.

    please advise.

Its because during contest prep you're on low carbs for a long period of time. So much so, that your muscles will be flat. When you feed them extra carbs the muscles will fill out and look full. Some take this one step further and go on very low to zero carbs the week before the show (carb depletion) and then consume extra carbs just a few days before the show to fill out( carb loading). The muscles are so starved for carbs they can actually take in more the normal. You walk a fine line between getting enough carbs and too much however. If you take in too much, you will spill over and appear smooth. Not enough, and you may still look flat.
