beta blocker doesn't vasodilate, its reduces your how hard your heart works thus bringing down bp. Something like nitro is a vasodilater and wouldn't advise taking it or the other. They can be very dangerous. Dont mess with your heart.

I have no knowledge of beta blockers....but a method of making the heart easier to pump IS vasodilation....not that i'm saying they work through that mechanism

You are right that vasodialaion well reduce stress on the heart and is one way to bring bp down. But beta blockers work directly with the heart and its beta receptors. These receptors deal with the contractility of the heart. One thing you have to watch for on a beta blocker is low heart rate and arrythemias. Vasodialation is widing of the arteries.

why would a body builder want to take a vasodialtor for? For more vascularity I assume. I would think higher bp would cause a more vascular look( even though is unhealthy). The vasdialation wouldn't be noticably IMO.

Use a blow dryer on hot and blow dry yourself before comp. Wear sandals.

    Nitro is not recomended.

Question; would Vigra or an ED drug work for vasodiolation?

prils and nitro are an example of vasodialotor, and yes, not recommended unless medically indicated. Viagra and ED drugs are vasidilators, but work mainly for one thing.

prils are like lisopril or other meds that end in pril. nitro can drop your bp to very unsafe numbers, plus may cause one of the worse headaches you would ever have. Why are you concerned with vasodilation?
