    When does your season begin?

This is just a simple consensus for the competitors on AR based solely on my curiosity.

When does your season begin? How far out from your show do you start to prepare(diet/training etc)?

14 weeks out is my number. Although I have stayed much leaner this year and could do it in 10-11 weeks.

I'm getting ready for my first show and I really let myself go. I had to start cleaning up my diet and doing cardio 24 weeks out. I'm 4 1/2 weeks out and haven't had a piece of bread, bite of pasta, fruit, or a whole lot of other things for over 4 months now. At 14 1/2 weeks out we really had to step it up. I did an hour and a half of cardio a day for four weeks straight until 10 1/2 weeks out when my prep coach told me I finally was caught up and actually looked like I was 10 1/2 weeks out from a show. Never again will I add that much bf.

Starting this weekend, 16 weeks out from the Masters Nats. Ive never done a prep this long, usually 12 weeks or less if its a 2nd comp in the same season. But, Im shooting for my best conditioning yet. Time will tell.

    Thanks Fireguy!

I just want to show up my best and see how I stack up. Hopefully I make the top 5 so that I can pose at the night show. That's the goal.

Years and years of procrastinating and postponing and you finally get on stage and not a single update on how you did?

I have not procrastinated, i've been figuring out what works for my body....I don't hire anyone remember
and I got my ass kicked....there were 3 people in my weight class shredded to the BONE...and one of them was 42 and a good 3 inches shorter than me on top of it, he won the overall. 13 in my weight class in all too. Bottomline, not lean enough, and wasn't expecting to have the judge go through poses like he's on speed.

Kudos to you for stepping on stage, you will learn something from every show you do but never as much as the first one. Sounds like you have addressed some things you need to work on and that's always the first step towards improvement.

Good luck this weekend. Were you able to suck down to a Middleweight or are you at the lower end of the Lightheavies?
