    3 day split advice

I am looking to start a new workout next week and want to build mass. I am currently on a 5 day a week wo but I go 6 days a week with sunday being my day off. So I basically hit each part every 6 days. I want to hit each body part every 3 days-4 days. Sunday has to be my off day. Do I go heavy on the first 3 and light weight with higher reps on days 4-6? Or is there a better way to go about this?

If it were me, I would go as heavy as I could everyday. I'd say as long as you listen to your body and are dieting according to its needs, then you should be good. I like to train this way. I had to learn not to let my ego take control and push to much weight when my body wasn't ready for it. Since I've learned to not worry about that, I've had good success! This is just my opinion though.

Thanks Z. Do you go with the 10-12 rep method for growth?

Mostly I shoot for 8-10. Depending on the exercise and how I feel ill throw in 12-15. I've been hitting that range on my legs here lately. Pretty soon I'm going to start Ronnie Rowland's slingshot training and see how that does for me. Have you looked into it? Capebuffalo is running it now and is seeing good results.

Yea I looked at it a little but I was getting a little confused. I think it was late and my mind was all over the place. Or the kids were bouncing off the walls. I have been meaning to look into it again so I guess no time better than the present. Thanks again.

Not many people are able to grow from lifting heavy as hell 6 days a week. The body needs time to grow. I lift4 or 5 days a week depending on my work schedule. Good luck with whatever you decide and remeber to listen to your body as big Z said.

I work out three times a week. I start with pull then I rest at least a day and then legs usually rest two days and then all push. If I really want to lift again ill hit legs again but usually 3 days per week is best. I wish I could workout all day every day but I've found that I grow so well with more rest. I've learned when it comes to working out its all about intensity during workout not how many workouts you accompolish. If you don't feel 100% go eat an extra meal instead of working or or maybe get in an extra nap. Less is more

I"m on a 3/1 protocol, every body part gets hit 2x a week. It's intense, and I'm ready on rest day. You can check with StPete, as he is keeping a journal on his 3/1 routine, which is what gave me the idea in the first place

How are you able to recover from this protocol?? When you workout are you still sore from your precious workout? Are your workouts inhibited at all by your volume?
