ITT: Permabulk needs advice preferably from competing heavyweights
Hey Guys, Permabulk here.
This is going to be kind of a novel, but I'll try to keep it short and sweet. I will provide cliffs at the end if this is TL;DR.
So quick stats/background:
20
5' 11'
210
15%
Year 3.5
( included 5 months no lifting;, racing accident, the ZX14R is an angry mistress!!!)
Was 106 pounds in high school, 2% BF. Bodybuilding is my life. I put a good effort in from the beginning, but like any novice I've made mistakes along the way. I learned from them. I find myself more diciplined ALL the time. To the point now that I know that it is my calling, and I not only want to live my life like a pro, I WILL live like a pro. If it isn't eating, training or sleeping, I probably won't be doing it. I have the resources to do it now, too. Anyways, I have big heart, blah blah, gush gush.
Which leads me to the point of my thread:
My training is pretty intense, I don't really, so much, need advice on that. I do need advice on my diet. Being the hardest of hardgainers, I did what I had to do to gain, and that worked for me then. It's about to not work now, as I'm getting to the limit of softness. As everyone says, most people only dirtybulk once.
These are all questions for the off-season bulk.
I have poured over everything, and I honestly cant get a straight answer. Broscientists have a funny way of contradiction.
How many calories over TDEE should someone take in on a moderate dose of Offseason compounds, ie. Test C, Deca , D-bol?
Do you guys change your cals over TDEE when taking peptides or HGH?
Is 40/40/20 a good macro for what I'm describing?
Is it worth is to go way over, eg. 2500 + TDEE, while doing lots of cardio, in order to boost total metabolism? Would this induce a "better" gain / higher anabolic state?
These might seem like simple questions to some of you, but they aren't so black and white to me. I understand how to calculate your intake based on your weight gain goals, but that doesn't cut it. I've seen some guys on here talk about eating 2000+ over TDEE. Is that something that is worth doing in any case?
CLIFFS:
* Getting pretty serious in a competitive manner
* Knows what to eat, how to eat, doesn't know how much to eat
* How does growth hormone affect your diet / lean bulk
* Is eating way over TDEE + Cardio better than eating a normal amount over TDEE
Thanks to anyone who took the time to respond to this. I'm not another wanna-be schmuck, I just need some guidance from you guys who are further a long in the journey!
Thanks,
- J

Everyone is different. I too am a hard gainer and I have found that when I eat 4000-4500 I gain muscle and the fat stays down. but when I go 4600-5000 the fat comes up fairly quickly but so does strength size. I would say increase your calories until you begin to start adding too much fat for your comfort and then back off 500 cal when not on. When on keep those 500 extra. Growth is going to make you hungry ALL the time and metabolism will be through the roof.
*Cliffs eat until you get fat. then back off 500 cal. no matter what.
