Doing first show in may!!
Whats up guys I am preparing for my first show in may im 12 weeks out started dieting 16 weeks out and just wanted some opinions from guys who have competed before gonna post some pics, pics were takin about 13 weeks out diet has been going well I have a coach helping me with my diet right now im eating around 200-250 carbs a day and around 280- 300 protein a day and around 40-60 grams of fat a day lost 11 pounds in 4 weeks, some questions I have by looking at my pics what are some guesses on my body fat percentage, when do you guys typically start a fat burner and when do you start to cut carbs or cycle carbs, I am 5'6" started at 189lbs around 178- 175 now. Probably gonna be around 160-165 for the show. Thank you for any advice or comments good or bad. Other pic is me about 9 months ago lol fat ass.

Wow man, big difference! As for the answers to your questions, if you have someone you're working with, do what they say. DO NOT take what a bunch of other people whether here on this board, another board or in real life and try to mix and match things. You'll second guess yourself to death and end up ruining your prep. Besides, why work with a prep guy if you're not going to do what he ask?

Looking decent from the pics. You have a lot of bf to lose but 12 weeks is cutting it close I think. But you know your body better then anyone. And write stuff done like notes so you do not forget little things you want to remember for your next prep.
awesome progress and great transformation bro

I agree with the notes part but I'd disagree with the cutting it close part. 12wks is plenty of time to come in ripped to the bone from where he's at now if things are done right. Granted, there's no leg pic and I've seen some guys that hold fat in their legs almost like a woman...it's not common but it does happen.

thanks for the advice guys I need to get some leg pics up, but my legs are pretty solid from what im being told I do have a left quad about an inch smaller from a hip condition I had my whole life but hopefully wont effect my competition to much as far as body fat ya I have upped my cardio recently and starting to cycle carbs soon so hopefully bodyfat will drop nicely

Good progress bro...i feel 250gm of carbs is a bit high, i would recommend micro-nutrient cycling through out the week and one designated higher arb day around 600gm of carbs...for the cycling if you lower your carbs for the day, increase your fats, preferably from omega-3 and / or fish oils....make the body guess on whats going to on to avoid any plateaus...as for cardio i recommend HIIT and high intensity resistance trainin...i do not like Deca for cutting cycles, but it is what it is, not to mention if you compete in a tested event you rick testing positive for the next 18 months...either way good luck you are well on your way ...

Thanks mike ya I have adjusted my carbs dropped them to around 150 to 200 gonna slowly drop my carbs with some higher carb days mixed in, if I raise fats on low carb days what foods do you recomend are nuts ok to eat on moderation? The deca was my coaches idea I wasn't for it at first but I have to trust what he says and haven't had any issues so far. How much cardio would u recommend right now I was doin 3 days a week think I'm going to up that to 5 days a week and I also heard a lot of good things about hiit I don't want thanks for the advice and comments.

Making good progress bro, like stated above, you paid a coach for a reason, listen to what they have to say, they have a plan mapped out for you and are there to guide you through this. Keep a log book to, I do it every diet, I write out what I eat and when I eat it, any changes my coach makes I wrote it down on the day it was made, any d rugs added or cut or increased I also make note of for future reference. Lastly and most importantly, forget about aiming for a certain weight or weight class! It's your first show, you don't know what you got under there, tell your coach your goal is to be as shredded as humanly possible no matter what the scale says, I've seen to many guys get caught up on having to be "x" amount in stage and when they hit that number they back off when they really have 5-10 more pounds to go and they would look ridiculous, don't let that happen to you man.
Good luck with prep it's a ride but well worth it

Why are you bending your knees when posing. How many times are you posing and for how long ?
