If I'm gonna take 3,000 mg of vitamin c

If I'm gonna take 3,000 mg of vitamin c a day, should I take 3 1,000 mg caps a day (spread out over 3 meals) or should I take 6 500 mg caps a day (spread over 6 meals)?

I just take mine morning/night.
