I'm using keto sticks and find that they are tan in the morning and up until mid-day then become deep purple in the evening. I should have been in ketosis for the past three days. Has anyone experienced similar?
Thanks

That means you aren't properly executing a cyclical ketogenic diet.
More fat, less protein, no carbs, right amounts, etc.

Hmmm. I'm eating by the book...Thanks though
Here's my diet:
SUN (After 6pm.): Sausage, 3eggs w/yolks, 2tblspoons olive oil
MON: Sausage, 3 eggs w/yolks, tablespoon olive oil
Ground beef with 3 tbl. spoons olive oil
Pork Rinds
Chicken in a cheese, butter cream sauce
2 Eggs w/ yolk, 1 white
The rest of the week is pretty much the same.
That could be true, but some can enter/leave ketosis easier than others, so my guess is a lot of time is going to be spent w/trial and error, using the sticks to guage, etc. One of the many downsides to keto dieting, all the time you are checking sticks and worrying about ketosis, one could be lifting/cardio/etc.Originally Posted by jpmacco
Not saying you aren't doing those things, but when you are and they are done correctly, a keto diet is far from needed to lose fat.

Yeah I don't think I'm going to do it again. It's made me really tired and irritable.
Very common!

If the sticks are purple that only means that those ketone bodies are excess. If your sticks ar only a light color, that means that you are using most of the ketone bodies as fuel. It could also be due to the amount of water you are drinking. The more water, the more diluted your urine will be. Also check your PMs, there will be some more info from me.
wtf?
I am glad i know nothing about this Keto BS...
do you look at sticks and burn fat as they turn color?
