How many calories to remove as diet progresses?

Been following the cutting sticky exactly as outlined, and it's working great.

Once fat loss begins to stagnate, and you lose weight, I would assume you need to keep macros the same but change caloric intake amount.

how do you know how many calories and from what source (carb, pro, fat) to remove?

Is it based on a % of weight (fat) left to lose?

    thanks

This may be true, but it may not. You may keep the cals the same but drop a few carbs and increase some fat. OR you may actually increase your total cals by keeping protein and carbs the same and just increasing fat. Like you'll read here a million times, the general philosophies are the same for everyone, but the details are different for each individual.

Make a change. See how your body responds. Adjust as necessary.

My approach may differ from some...As a competitive bodybuilder, there are so many variables within a contest prep that can be manipulated to ensure continued fat-loss (cardio, training intensity, posing ..etc) that generally i don't reduce my calories at any point after the commencement of my cutting diet (with general exception being the last week for carb-depleting etc).

What i would advise is to increase your level of activity first before reducing the caloric allotment of any of you macronutrients. If you HAVE been losing fat on said protocol it is possible to continue for some time by just increasing activity. This step'll alow you to lose fat while ingesting the same/more calories.

I like this idea...... I would rather do 2 hours of cardio per day as well as lifting and still eat 2400 cals a day than to lower the cals to 1500 and do 1 session of cardio. For a while I was eating like 2000 calories a day and my body hated it.....I felt like ****.

    thanks all

I am currently doing 45 mins cardio AM , on empty stomach.

Maybe keep cals same and throw in another 30 mins in the evening on non-workout days?

It ain't beef w/me, it was beef w/bad man.

Still, there was no point to what was said to BM, so we all want to know the reason behind the brain-fart statement.
