You shouldn't be cutting while you are doing a sport, thats just going to hinder your athletic ability and hurt your fat loss goals with overtraining. Just eat what you need to for your sport, diet in the offseason if you need to.
Unless it is a sport where you're tearing down muscle and need to repair it.....I would just have a shake w/ flax before hand, and maybe a slower burning low glycemic meal after (brown rice/chicken breast)
But I agree, doing a sport that requires a lot of physical activity is probably not the best idea while cutting.
What is this SPORTS EVENT???
That will dicate what you should eat, if you should drop it, etc.
It's impossible to say w/out knowing WTF you are doing during this time.

I'd rather not say what sport, but I'd say in my position my heart rate is pretty similar to that of a fast paced walk. So it's like cardio, only late at night. With that in mind, would I be better with pro/fat or pro/carb? Thanks.
By the way I'm more serious about working out than the sport, for what that's worth.
U f*ckin' serious?Originally Posted by boondockSAINT

That's nuts!
I merely asked what sport you participate in, not for your social security number or home address.

WOW, ripped. Fine I'm a bowler. No really though, it's roller hockey. But I play defense, so not skating full-time like a forward or constantly diving like a goalie. Now that it's out, maybe I can get an answer? Pro/fat or pro/carb? Thanks jokesters.![]()

I'd have either a fat/protein offering (solid variety for satiety) or a clean carb (low gi) and solid protein (low fat) offering after. I don't believe you'd need dextrose/pro after this, but you may wish to have some low gi carbs after.
Think about your insulin sensitivity and your propensity to store fat when you decide what to utilize after practice.
That wasn't that hard now was it?

hey swole same type of question but..im not a goalie and not late night...how many grams of carbs should i shoot for before a hockey game so i dont go catabolic?Originally Posted by SwoleCat
Thanks swole. By the way, I have no clue what curling is, but it sounds like something that I would need to borrow your biceps for.
what about wrestling matches(pro not high school/college)?????

How strenuous is the level of pro wrestling that you compete in?Originally Posted by biggnik56

What physique characteristics are you trying to achieve with your body while you are a pro wrestler? This will have some bearing on which way the meals should be arranged.

I am trying to drop weight. I have had an S-load of diets i have tried. But to no avail. Wich has been inconsistance on my part. I would like to know what would be good to eat late night when i get hunger pangs, and or after events.....
I'd check the sticky atop the page if you are looking for a decent approach to cutting.
